January 30, 1999
"Who are we picking up?" Nick asked Brian. They were standing in one of the crowded terminals at the Las Vegas airport.
"You'll see," Brian said. "One of my friends."
A girl with dark blonde hair stepped off of the plane wearing a footbal jersey. "That girl looks like Leigh," Nick said. The girl turned towards them. "It is...how did she? Why? Brian! It's Leigh!"
"I know Frack," Brian said. "Hey Leigh."
"Hey Bri, hey Nick," Leigh exclaimed, working her way around people to them. Nick couldn't even speak. It had been nearly a month since he had seen his girlfriend, and no member of the opposite sex had ever looked so good to him. He finally picked her up and swung her around.
"Put me down!" Leigh exclaimed. He put her down and kissed her passionately. "Wow. Good to see you to Nick."
"I've never been so happy to see someone in my life!" Nick said.
"Blame it on your best friend," Leigh said, as she quickly hugged Brian. "He planned it."
Nick smiled at Brian. "You're the best."
"I know," Brian said. "Lets go before we get recognized."
They went down to the limo waiting out front. "So we're really staying in the Belaggio? I've heard it's awesome."
"It's pretty cool," Brian said.
"That's an understatement," Nick said. "The arcade kicks ass. Brian had to drag me out of there to... oh, nevermind."
"To meet my plane?" Leigh asked knowingly.
"I almost came to pick you up alone," Brian said, shaking his head.
"Some boyfriend," Leigh said, pinching Nick's arm lightly. "I only forgive you because it was a surprise. But now you're treading on thin ice."
Brian laughed as Nick turned to Leigh and kissed her even more passionately than he had before in the airport. "Are you two gonna suck face all weekend?"
"That's the plan," Nick said, tearing himself away from Leigh. "You'd do the same if Dallas were here. And don't even try to say you wouldn't. Do you remember Six Flags?"
Leigh laughed. "All they did was make out. But I recall you and I kissed too."
"Only once though," Nick said. "I think Dallas and Brian were having a kiss-a-thon."
Well, if you guys intend to make out all weekend, I know a few thousand people who will be disappointed," Brian said. "You know, at the concert tomorrow night."
Leigh laughed. "I think we can handle a few hours of seperation."
"I don't know," Nick said. "I've been going through withdrawl the past month. I don't think I'll ever let you go. You're mine now."
"Scary thought," Brian said.
Nick made a face at Brian. Leigh laughed. "You have me until the third of January."
"Five whole days," Nick said sarcastically.
"It's the the last tour stop," Brian pointed out. "You could go back to California with her."
"Wow, do I have a smart best friend or what?" Nick asked.
"And a sweet one too," Leigh said.
"If you ever get sick of Nick, just let me know," Brian said. "I'll be happy to fill his spot?"
"Nobody said anything about a loyal best friend," Nick said. "I guess I need my dogs if I want loyalty."
Brian and Leigh just laughed.
