"I'm coming!" Grayson exclaimed, as she ran to the door of her hotel room.
"C'mon," Brian said, as she opened the door. "You're running late. I just got done lighting a fire under your boyfriend's butt."
"Oh yeah?" Grayson asked. "Just let me grab my purse. Come on in."
"You are too neat," Brian commented on Grayson's immaculate room. "Are you sure you should be going out with AJ?"
"Ha ha," Grayson responded. "Alright, I'm ready."
"Lets go," Brian said, offering Grayson his arm. "We'll pick up AJ on the way to the elevator."
"Sounds good," Grayson said. They walked three rooms down. Brian knocked on the door.
"Is he not going to come to the door?" Brian asked.
"Maybe he's already downstairs," Grayson said. "Lets just go."
They entered the elevator. "Tearin' Up My Heart" was playing on the spekers. Grayson started laughing.
"What?" Brian asked.
"Just imagining Kevin pounding Justin," Grayson laughed. "What the hell?"
The elevator had just stalled. "Are we stuck?" Brian asked.
"Maybe just a little," Grayson said. She picked up the emergency phone. "Hello? Hello?"
"What's wrong?" Brian asked when she slammed the receiver down.
"The phone is working even less that the elevator," Grayson said. "Wait! My cell!"
Grayson picked up the purse she had dropped when the elevator stalled. "It's not in here!"
Brian reached into his pocket and pulled put his cellular phone. "This will work," he said, hitting the power button on his phone. A frustrated look crossed his face. "I forgot to recharge it."
"Great," Grayson sighed. "Well, they'll realize we haven't come down."
"I told them I'd bring you," Brian said. "They already went to the movies."
"What about AJ?" Grayson asked desperately.
"I told him that we were gonna leave without him," Brian said. "I thought he'd move quicker."
Grayson leaned against the wall and slid to the floor. "Wonderful. Not that I don't love ya B-Rok, but I can think of better ways to spend my day."
"Me too," Brian said. He sat next to her. "But I guess you and I are best friends until someone realizes that you and I are gone."
Grayson smiled slightly. "Well, AJ would have been throwing a fit I think. Or he would have seen this as a romantic opportunity."
"What makes you think I won't?" Brian asked.
This time Grayson let off peals of laughter. "If you can keep me entertained for hours then we'll be fine. Otherwise I might get claustrophobic."
"Great, I'm stuck in the elevator with someone who's afraid of closed in spaces," Brian sighed. "Well, I'm afraid of heights, so I get to have panic attacks too."
"Deal," Grayson said. "So how do we keep ourselves entertained?"
"We could tell ghost stories in this dark elevator car," Brian said.
"Thank you no," Grayson said. "Unless you want me clinging all over you."
"Well, I think AJ would get jealous and who knows what Dallas would do so," Brian said. "I'll sing to you. How's that?"
"Alright," Grayson said.
Brian sang "Water Runs Dry", then he sang "Anytime", and he finished with "When Will I See You Again". Grayson had fallen asleep while he was singing. When he stopped she woke up and said, "That was great Brian."
"I try to please," Brian said. They were so close. He could feel her breathing. He turned his head a little and his breath caught when he realized his lips were inches from hers.
"Really?" Grayson asked. She was aware of Brian's nearness, and it was affecting her in strange ways. Her heart was pounding and her breathing was shallow.
"All the time," Brian said. He moved a little bit closer, trying to gauge Grayson's reaction. Yeah, she was AJ's girlfriend. Yeah, he was Dallas' boyfriend. Yeah, he'd feel like a jerk when they got out of the elevator. But right in the moment nothing mattered.
"I guess you're just a servant of the people then?" Grayson whispered. All she could think about was Brian. He smelled wonderful. Even in the semi-darkness of the elevator she could see his sparkling blue eyes.
"I guess," Brian whispered. It was Grayson who closed the gap between them. They kissed cautiously at first. Brian deepened the kiss, running his tongue along Grayson's bottom lip. She opened her mouth to his and enjoyed the taste of him.
Grayson pulled away. "This is wrong."
"Yeah, I'm sorry," Brian said, scooting away from Grayson a little bit.
"Why?" Grayson asked. "I kissed you. I should be sorry. But I'm not."
"No?" Brian asked.
"It was a great kiss," Grayson smiled a little. "But it will never happen again."
Brian smiled. "It was great."
"Shut up," Grayson laughed. "Can we try not to be uncomfortable around each other? It'll look suspcious."
"Of course," Brian said. "I'm completely comfortable around you. As long as I'm not to close to you."
"Why's that?" Grayson asked.
"I'll want to kiss you again," Brian said.
"Maybe we better not talk about kissing Brian," Grayson said. Already wanting to kiss him again. Brian knew what she wanted. He leaned closer and captured her lips again. They let loose the passion they had inside.
They emergency phone interupted their kiss. "Hello?" Brian answered.
Brian talked for a minute. "What'd they say?" Grayson asked.
"We'll be out in fifteen minutes," Brian said. He licked his lips and kissed Grayson one last time.
