"You look fabulous," Kevin said. "Shall we go eat milady?"
"I was wondering if you'd mind if we just ordered in Chinese and watched TV or something?" Vanessa asked.
"Sure," Kevin said. "But you're all dressed up."
"Yeah, I know," Vanessa said, "But I think we need to talk."
"Oh," Kevin sighed, "I knew this would come."
"I'm scared Kevin," Vanessa said. Kevin walked over to her and held her. He pulled one of her ringlets around his finger, trying to think of a way to comfort her.
"I don't know what to say Vanessa," Kevin started. "I can't say that I never want to see you again after I leave New York. I think that would kill me. I can't say having a relationship with me will be easy, but no relationship is easy. I can't say we will last forever, but I can hope. What are you thinking?"
"That I want tonight to last forever," Vanessa said quietly.
"Me too," Kevin murmured. "What can I do for you? Do you want me to leave now and never look back?"
"My mind says yes," Vanessa said. Kevin started to pull away from her. She pulled him back, "But my heart says to keep you here."
"Which one do you follow?" Kevin asked.
"I never did use my head too much," Vanessa said, as she gave Kevin a deep kiss. They had never kissed like that before.
"Vanessa?" Kevin asked.
"Yeah?"
"What now?" he asked.
"Do you really need to ask?"
