Chapter Eleven: A Phone Call From Home

"Hello?" answered his cordless phone. He was sitting on his couch watching an old movie with Dallas. She was cuddled in his arms.

"Brian, is that you?" his mom asked.

"Hey Mom," Brian exclaimed. "It's me."

"I was just calling to see how you are," Jackie said. "I haven't talked to you for awhile."

"I'm great," Brian said.

"Are you seeing someone?"

"Yeah I am," Brian said. "And you'll never believe who."

"A supermodel or something?" she asked. "Or are you back together with Leigh Anne?"

"No. Do you remember Dallas?" Brian asked.

"Of course I do," she answered. "She was a very sweet girl, but if I remember right, you broke up."

"Well, we met again and we got back together," Brian said. "She's better that ever."

"Good for you honey," his mother said. "How long have you been seeing each other?"

"About two weeks," Brian said. They talked for about fifteen more minutes. "I better get off."

"I've got to go anyway Brian," Jackie said. "Tell Kevin I said hello. Say hello to Dallas and the other boys too."

"Sure Mom, bye," Brain said. "I love you."

"I always loved your mom," Dallas said.

"Yeah?" Brian asked. "How much?"

"Like she was my own mother," Dallas said. "Closest thing I've ever had to a mom." Dallas' own mom had died in a car accident when she was two.

"Well she loved you too," Brian said. He kissed her neck.

"How much?" Dallas teased.

"Not as much as I do," Brian said, kissing her jaw.

Dallas tensed. "What?" Dallas asked. "You love me?"

"Yeah I do. Why?" Brian asked.

"I wasn't sure you'd ever say that again," Dallas said, looking into his eyes.

"Dallas McKenzie," Brian whispered. "I love you."

"I love you Brian Littrell," she whispered back.
