Long ago and far away
a silver-white unicorn grazes
on lush green pastures
outside the castle where
the King and Queen of dreams
are having tea and marshmallow cake
The Princess is on the balconey
nursing a broken heart
when she is knocked down by flames
A scaled dragon lunges
intent on destroying their perfect world
Suddenly there is a clatter of hooves
and Prince Charming gallops up on his
snow-white stallion
He bravely battles the dragon
and proudly defeats the evil creature
He climbs the trellace to the Princess
hands her a red rose
and gently takes her soft hands
All problems are in the past
and he kisses her ruby red lips
They walk hand in hand
down the carpeted corridor
to the dining room
Where the King of Dreams has
another piece of marshmallow cake
They all embrace and stroll
to the castle entrance
and look down into the
beautiful valley, abundant in
flowing water, trailing vines
and the grazing unicorn
in their kingdom in the clouds

You sit up, in your own bed
Outside the window is pouring rain
Your alarm didn't go off
and your boyfriend is gone
without even leaving a note
And you realize it was only a dream.
