COMANDO SUICIDA - LAST CHANCE INTERVIEW NUMBER 9

Well, this is a very interesting interview, its from a band form Argentina. The Skinhead scene is just forming out there and there already is a couple of bands. They have actually got songs out on vinyl and to be quite honest, they are really good, obviously they sing in their native tongue (Spanish). They even do a version of the 4 Skins 'Chaos'.

Could you give me a brief history of the band?

We formed back in 1984. We were the first OI! group in Argentina. Actually there are five members in the band

Are Comando Suicida a political band?

We are nationalist, not reds, but we don't to be used by politics, they're bullshit.

Which musical influencies do you take?

Decibelios, 4 Skins, Skrewdriver, Cockney Rejects, Sham 69, Nabat and Cock Sparrer.

Give me some of the subjects that you sing about?

About social problems in South America and the life of working class boys.

What is the Skinhead scene like in your country?

The scene is quite good, there about 100 of us in Buenos Aires and they are strong and hard.

Are there any other Skinhead bands in Argentina and do you keep in contact with them?

There is only one other band of OI! music and they are our friends, but they do try and copy our style.

Have you played many gigs?

We've played a lot of shows since 1984 with other groups, Punk, Hardcore and Trash. We also played with some Ska bands in 1988.

What are the bands main ambitions?

Our ambitions are to know Europe and to travel to England, Germany, Belgium and Spain.

Have you made any recordings?

We have also two records, the first was recorder in 1987 and we sold 1500 copies of this one week! The name of this EP was Al K.O and it received good reviews in America in Maximum Rock n Roll magazine. We received a lot of letters asking about us became of this single. We have a lot of fans in Germany and they want us to release this EP again in Europe. In 1988 we recorded two songs for a compilation LP called Invasion 88, the two songs were called Ultimo reurso (Last Resort) and El guancho pulenta.

What are the your views on the Falkland islands?

General Galtieri thought that if he won a war against England he'll obtain the power for ever. But he was wrong because Argentina hadn't the sufficient military power (only a good air force) to win a war against England. Geographically the islands are in our territory but we have actually got a lot more real problems like unemployment and the economy so we don't really think of the Falklands as there are things more important to us.

As we now bring this interview to an end, is there anything else that you would like to say to Last Chance readers?

A great salute to all Last Chance readers and we wish that we could play for them.

P.S If some day we visit England we want to play a football match. Do you accept?
