After the fire hall show previous, we had heavy doubts about our live performances, but this one did work out well. First of all, though, Frank from ivet told us to get there at 7. So, for the FIRST TIME EVER, we actually got there on time. And wouldn't you know it, there was no one in sight.

So, we're mulling about the front of the bar, and this old cat with an oxygen tank is sitting there watching us from a bench. We're reading the front of the door to the bar allowed...first of all, there is a "21 and over, please" sign on the door - what's that? Then there is a "proper dress required". Looking at pj, then at lenny, and myself, we don't exactly fit up to bar with the night club standard. One of us complains about this allowed, and the dude with the oxygen tank matter-of-factly, states:

"In these kinds of places, proper dress is anything that covers your cock."

We lost it.

After eating at a VERY interesting taco bell, and reenacting the orbit of the universe on a petaled fountain, ivet showed up at maybe 8. They quickly disappeared into bw3's.

Long story short, though, the guy showed up to open the bar at 9, and by then, frank and us were seriously considering an outdoor show right there on the walk.

The arrangement of the bar was pretty shitty - you NEVER put the stage next to the bar. What the hell were they thinking? The stage was extremely tiny to boot.

Now, it was the sound guy's turn to show up late. With the owner of the bar bitching at us to start for a solid half hour, the sound guy meanders in at 11, though we don't play until about 11:30 because he can't get the monitors to work, which he then have to play without for the whole set. Cock.

So, we took the stage and played our little hearts out. Polumbi sounded pretty bad because my guitar jumped out of tune real quick and i couldnt find a good spot to attempt a tune. Oh well. Run around Sue and Angel sounded the best. Well, up unitl...

FACE! Which tino (he'd had a few up to this point) was kind enough to sing with me. I realize its odd that we finished with face, but, given the enviornment of our show, it pulled the best response. We had real, live booty dancing on that song. It made me feel all warm inside.

Oh, and of course whilst i was tuning during our set, lenny took it upon himself to tell the entire bar that we were gay. Later, Ivet-MIke informed that a herd of youngstown thugs wanted to beat our asses upon hearing that. Sweet.

I could tell you about Ivet's set, but that's not really my job. Go to their site, though, Mike hasn't updated the diary since May. Did i mention that we didn't know about this show until the day before? Savage Pastry - king of the impromptu.

Lots of other neat, not so important stuff happened - check the weirdest things... section for those.
