We're trying it again - tonight at Plaza Cafe in downtown youngstown. We're hoping to dust off the cobwebs from the last show, and take care of business like we need to. I don't know why, but I have a definite good feeling about this show. You people can spot me on that with how it ends up turning out later, but for now, I'm going to remain hopeful. Bless Ivet, for being nice enough to hook us up again.

For those who don't already know, we now own the rights to savagepastry.com so you can get to this site through its true name now. Happy labia, er, labor day.8/26
We had a show yesterday. It sucked. I broke my guitar. Everything sounded horrible. No matter what we did, everything just went wrong. It's days like this that make you want to quit the game all together. Thanks to the handful of people who did show though. At least the other bands' sets were good.

Well it appears that Chris Bowser is out of our band. oh well. we either need a new guitarist or a new bassist. or one person that can play both. if your any good, email us. we'll try you out.As far is our show is concerned, ivet and coinmonster are confirmed for this friday. i think one more band is coming. if not, i guess it will be an early night. or you'll be treated to the vocal stylings of burp.
we have lots of fun things coming so stay tuned and remember....
Savage Pastry...we're what a girl wants

The time has finally come!!! We're returning to sharon (show wise) on August 25th performing at the north sharon firehall with (i think) ivet and coinmonster. For full details and such go to our calender page. They'll be a future update about this show very soon. But consider it, for now, a back to school bash with the potential to be the best show yet.

My quest for the ultimate collection of online money making schemes has grown stronger. Over here, I've added some more stuff you can do to help, PLUS, there is the new, growing page of pay-per-click banners here. Please help us get our own domain! In actual BAND NEWS : we have a new song coming out soon. This one is quite a spiffy jam, but it lacks the input of half the band so we'll see how it turns out. Tis all for now. Thanks, cat.

We sure haven't been doing much. Today, though, I think, we've finally rebuilt some momentum. First of all, and most importantly, we've been discussion of procuring our own domain. And believe it or not, YOU can help us and help your self at the same time. Go here to find out more about that. Secondly, we may start working on the album again soon. We've all been busy lately going our separate ways. (by they by, I, catdaddy, am currently involved in the filming of a VERY funny, low budget movie - stay tuned for details on that.) But, the need to write some new songs as sort of struck us all, so we'll see what happens. We have enough songs for an album, but... who knows. In case you haven't notice, I've also established a website devoted to being the ulimate show listing for the western pa/eastern oh area. It's over at www.oocities.org/western_pa_mod_squad. Please check that out and support your scene. There are a lot of good bands, and a lot of good shows on there.
So for now, peace. - cat.

I thought, hastily I admit, that we had a show tonight because we were offered one, but low and behold, he who giveth also taketh away. Oh well. Chock another one up to the "shit happens" credo. Nothing else new to report. But isn't all of the new stuff on the site pretty?7/4
So, all right, we haven't done anything to this page in a month. That's ok. We had a show a week or two ago at this Royal Oaks bar in youngstown where they were going to throw all of our under 21 fans out until mike from jakebrake flexed some muscle. We premiered a new emo song at the show, and, I suppose it was fun, though 3/4 of savage pastry were partially unconcious by the start of our set due to sleep deprivation. No more shows planned yet, but we'll be having some independent shows again soon, I'm sure. The bar scene is just disheartening. Fuck the drunk bitches.

Well, Freddy Fresh's was definately a trip. We had to play on the floor because there was no room on the stage, and chris and lenny each took upon themselves to smash a guitar during the set (lenny's being over rando's head). Definitely the best rendition of "face" to date, but some of the other songs were really sluggish. We only had 2 guitars for about half the set because Chris's beast went out on him.Note, that we don't have any shows planned for the immediate future because we've been taking some time off. Different reasons for each of us, I think. I've had personal issues, Pj's been working, as has Chris, and Lenny's been with his girl. And for all those keeping tab, Lenny has actually started applying for a new job as well! Actually, one of the major reasons for all of this is so that we can write some new songs. I think that we're all sick of about 75% of the old ones. Look for a new refreshed Savage Pastry surfacing later this month.

Where'd it all go??? Yes, we have cleaned out all the old news and shit on this site, but if you still want to check it out go over here.I'm sure everyone will also be happy to know that we are playing at the glorious Freddy Fresh's in marvelous downtown sharon. The calender page has been fixed so you can actually use the link to the left to check out more about it. See you all down there,

Good god this site needs some fixing. (blame lenny, the jobless bastard) There is some good news, however. First of all, the buzz of excitement is burning fiercely in our camp as we prepare for this weekend. Its been said on this site a thousand times but I can't stress how important this weekend is. First of all, we have a show at ground zero on saturday with 4 bands now. That one is just destined to be a good time.More importantly than that one, even, is sunday's show at nyabinghi. Six very good bands including ivet, coinmonster and jakebrake. I'm thinking there is the potential for a good number of people there. (As a side note, the largest s.p. show so far, was the 2nd vfw show - about 125 people approximately). Anyone who wants to know anything about the show just get in touch with one of us. Its ALL AGES! I want to see EVERYBODY there.
Also, the lost anal lobster and misanthrope archives are currently being recovered. An anal lobster stick with all the good old songs, will probably be available within a month. For everyone who doesn't know about anal lobster, just imagine an album full of "face"'s.
'Tis all, see ya saturday and sunday

I'll admit, this site needs updating. And i may even get around to it one of these days, seeing as how i am now jobless as well as school being over (hopefully i passed a couple of my classes). So anyway, now i'm a full time rock star, or as most other people call it, if you aren't famous, a worthless piece of shit. Our show at Ground Zero went very very well. Lirk rocks. and they played an ivet song (alligator). A lot of our friends were there, making it a good night overall. earlier in the day, we played with mortis deus (or as we affectionately call them, moldy deushe). we were especially funny, playing the DEATH METAL DOO WOP twice and i stage dived off a deck that was about 10 or 15 feet up in the air. not a bad show, but it made us tired for later that night at ground zero.
We have two shows coming up. The first is on Saturday, May 20th at ground zero with jakebrake. i assume it will start sometime around 10:30 pm. 18 and over. sorry. if you ask real nice, we might be able to sneak you in. Our other show is the next day, sunday, may 21st, at the nyabinghi. Its the Gary Papa Memorial Benefit, with ivet, coinmonster, jakebrake, tilt 360, and some other bands. That show starts at 3 pm, and there is a 5 dollar cover charge, but it is all ages. Its for a good cause.
and on a slightly different note, i almost got arrested for yelling "FUCK YOU CORPORATE AMERICA! SUCK MY COCK!" after being asked to leave Super K-Mart in Niles, OH. I hate coporate facists. Don't you? Ok, im outie. and remember...
when you wash your unmentionables, think of
---lenny4-17-00 For those of you who don't know, our show at psu was moved to the chestnut street cafe in downtown Sharon. The second time in as many months we were faced with an ABSOLUTE last second change of venue. Lenny did a good job of losing and then finding a place for us to play :)
Nonetheless, I was impressed with how well it all went. Our boys, speakeasy played first, followed by tilt-360, us, and, of course, ivet. Because of some asshole bouncer and some miscommunication, ivet's set was limited to 5 songs (the shortest set of all of us). Frank was sick, and mike had somewhere to be anyway. We had fun, rocked a new place, and lenny got to see a nipple ring.
COME SEE US AT THE GROUND ZERO in youngstown on april 29th. We're playing with lirk. It's our first ever 18+ show, so our fanbase will be DRASTICALLY reduced. Plus its a gothbar so robert smith or at least one member of bahaus will probably be there.

It has been a long time since the last update, and thats because, quite frankly, we haven't been doing much. We are having a show at Penn State on April 14th from 7-11. we are expecting ivet to play, and maybe speakeasy, but nothing is confirmed yet. This show promises to be better than the last disaster we had. It will start on time, and not end early, and its in the gym (think Nirvana's Smells Like Teen Spirit video. now all we need are nasty cheerleaders in black outfits with the anarchy icon on their chests. PUNK ROCK!) We were supposed to be playing at ground zero with ivet on april 29th, but they have a better gig in new jersey in front of record execs and stuff, so our spot on the bill is questionable now. Jim's trying to keep us on the bill, but things are up in the air. i guess we'll just have to wait and see. ok, adios.--lenny

We have added new songs to our mp3.com collection. Hit the link above the hear new additions "Downtown", "Gaiman", and "Ellie".
3-7-99 Another show, another set of mixed feelings (for me, at least). Our show last night was an obvious success. Jakebreak was everything you love about pop music without the hair gel, and ivet shined more than usual. Aphasia did their thing as well, though i will admit that it wasnt their best show that ive seen. Maybe thats just because we were all so tired after ivet that we really didnt care about any more aural abrasion.
Something I was impressed with though, tell me if you can agree other band guys, is that EVERYONE was really nice. I mean, it was such a drastic atmosphere change from the stunningly cold and stagnant psu show, that i, personally, almost glowed with joy. The Ivet guys were unmentionably curtious, as well as the jakebreak guys, and (startlingly), the aphasia posse. though there was ONE particular incident that brought a bit of authortative grief onto my shoulders, the situation was remedied and all went well.
Even the crowd was pleasant, with the exception of a few people who just dont realize that moshing involves more than 1 willing participant, and is generally reserved, at ivet concerts, for the more intense moments. screaming along, and thrashing up and down is, consistantly, the norm. The band/audience interaction through most of the sets was heart-warming as well. i doubt ill ever hear frank mutter the line "im in the mood for a savage pastry" again in my life. i will admit that im a bit biased towards a particular fan, wishing that our "band/audience interaction' would go a little farther, but ill digress from that subject :)
ANYWAY. Good show. Our set was ify, and i was on my back more times than a korean, but i guess it all was ok. We actually had a good time which is all thats really important, if our song quality suffers a bit as a result, then so be it.
Soooo... onwards to the future. I'm taking a couple weeks off from self-promoted shows (yes nate youre right), but will resume my pseudo-managerial duties (shared, of course, in part by crist-dog) a short deal into the future.
Be sure to mark your calenders. We'll be playing at the bar/club GROUND ZERO in y-town on the 29th and in the middle of may. Obviously, we'll keep you ubdated on both counts.
This is catdaddy signing off, reminding everyone : its hard as hell like a 16 year old hippee :)
see ya,
cat.
Here's the old stuff. I still haven't updated that much, but these things take time.

This Saturday, Hermitage VFW, 6pm, SAVAGE PASTRY, IVET, JAKEBRAKE, and APHASIA. $4. cheap.
Admittingly, our past show at penn state (which seems to act as savage pastrys kryptonite), was wretched beyond belief. Personally, I did have something of a good time during our set and aphasia, but I think that that all of the unneccessary nuisances throughout the night (ie the broken speakers, refusal of anyone to actually go INTO the show, and...bored), brought down the atomsphere (which was already shaky at best) into a exhausted, "lets just get this fucking show over with" rut. Because of all of this, we will not be playing at penn state shenango any time in the future.
HOWEVER, i have arranged something of a makeup date for this saturday (march 4th or whatever) at our old friend the vfw. Anyone who was at the last show, knows that this place gets rocked like no other venue. The band list is still sketchy but I THINK that aphasia and ivet will show up. I'm shooting for around 6:00 to start the show because i may have another of these kam tools raves to compete with, but well see what actually happens.
So, i hereby apologize for our penn state show and beg everyone to give it another chance, this saturday at the hermitage vfw. see everybody there.

Our psu show on the 26th really sucked. We are never having a show there again. We are having a concert again soon, though we don't know where or when just yet. Stay tuned for more details.
-lennyOur show that was supposed to be at the Girls Buhl Club has passed, and while there were some changes, overall it was a resounding sucess. Here's the story:
The FUCKING SHARON POLICE shut down the rave that was held in the old Girls Buhl Club the night before, and so we weren't allowed to have our show there the following day. So last minute, Catdaddy got the Hermitage VFW, site of the last Savage Pastry concert. With the help of spamming the Sharon chat room, Aphasia's massive number of friends, and a few well placed signs at the Girls Buhl Club, we got almost 150 people into the building and pulled a good chunk of change towards Savage Pastry shirts and a new P A system.
Ivet rocked the house as usual, and Aphasia was pretty good too. A friend of mine by the name of Sean Bartolin stopped by and his band Yesterday's Fear played a set. JakeBrake was gonna play, but their bassist got in a car wreck (We hope you feel better Keith. Next time don't drink so much.) And i bought a new bass as an impulse buy and it's really nice and it stays in tune. Maybe we'll have pictures up from the show sometime soon. I'm not sure if anybody even took any.
This was definately the best Savage Pastry show yet. We got another coming up on saturday at PSU. Everybody better be there.
And finally, thanks to ivet, we got our first real club gig at Ground Zero in Youngstown at the end of April. Maybe we'll get somewhere with this whole rock star thing. But we can't stop doing our self promoted shows. They are way too profitable.
Peace out my homies.
- lennyAs you can see, the page is starting to change, and get better. Look for more updates in the near future
Savage Pastry has two shows coming up. The first one is on Feb. 19th at 7:00 PM at the old girls Buhl Club near the Sharon Library. Were playing that show with Ivet, JakeBrake, and Aphasia. The second show is at Penn State Shenango on Feb. 26th at 6:00 PM. Were playing that show with Speakeasy, Bored, Aphasia and probably somebody else. If you need directions email us.
Savage Pastry is working on its new album. Look for it sometime in the future.
Our psu show is over, and it went well. We've got a couple more coming up in January, and you'll all be happy to know that the know Pastry disc, God and the Machine is FINALLY done and up for sale! Till, next time...
-n.c.Well, my brothers, you know that show we're doing, well PSU has decided that we can't donate our profits to mumia abu-jamal as planned. You know why? Because he doesn't fit their republican idealogy. check out the whole story on savage pastry's declaration page.
