Billie Joe Armstrong, the youngest of six children, was born February 17, 1972 in Rodeo, California. His dad was a jazz drummer/truck driver and died of cancer when Billie was ten years old. The last gift that Billie received from his father, before his father died, was an electric
guitar. Billie's mother worked as a waitress at Rod's Hickory Pit. At five years old, Billie sang at hospitals to cheer the patients up.Soon herecorded his first song,
His interest in punk bands began when his friends introduced him to DOA, TSOL and the Dead Kennedys. Billie Joe has played/produced/written with other bands, but mostly Pinhead Gunpowder. He had recorded several singles and records with Pinhead Gunpowder.
In July of 1994, Billie Joe Armstrong married his girlfriend Adrienne Nesser and the ceremony lasted only five minutes. On the day after the wedding, Adrienne found out she was pregnant. On the March of 1995, Joseph Marciano Armstrong was born. He is now three years old. The most recent addition to his family is Jacob Armstrong, born in September 1998.
