Take 5 & C Note

*The part on C-Note is in bold

With Backstreet Boys sitting on top of the charts (all around the world), it didn't take long for more boy bands to come along and try to capture some of that same audience. (That's you!)

First came 'N Sync, a band that's come very close to achieving the same kind of fame and fortune as BSB without being a rip-off of BSB. 'N Sync has it's own style and sound and look-- that sets them apart.

Five and 98° are coming up behind 'N Sync as two of the hottest new boy bands, along with the other cool groups in this special issue.

But who are the boy bands of tomorrow? The next big thing?

First up, check out Take 5. This adorable band of boys has already been released in the US, and overseas they're pure gold. Their funky debut CD Take 5 is laced with R&B riffs they have won ecstatic fans in countries as far away as Malaysia, Thailand, Hong Kong, Singapore, the Philippines, Indonesia, Japan, India, Norway, Sweden, Italy, Denmark, Finland, Spain and Portugal. Their single "I Give" is a worldwide smash, accompanied by an attention-getting video that takes place around a pool.

We think Take 5 will be taking off in the US, too. What do you think? Write us with your opinion: Should Popstar! cover Take 5 in a big way? Why or why not?

If you write us with your opinion, you could win one of two videos: "I Give" and "Never Had It So Good." Two of you will win-- just for writing in!

If you watch MTV, you probably saw that cool Ultrasound special on the making of boy bands, that one that flashed Popstar!’s first cover on the screen. In that special, we heard from a new boy band out of Orlando (hello!) called C Note.

A "C note," besides being a point on the musical scales, is slang for a hundred-dollar bill. These four guys (Dru, Raul, David & Brody) are going to be earning plenty of those once they're launched in the US. Their music is romantic and dancey at once, and as they showed on that MTV special, these guys have what you need to survive as a boy band: (1) great tunes, (2) great attitudes and (3) great looks!

Be sure to check out their debut CD from Epic, and don't forget to write us with your vote on whether or not Popstar! should cover Take 5 or C Note more in-depth!
