chapter eighteen

Lauren and LS walked to LS's house from the fairgrounds. It took about fifteen minutes, but it seemed like hours to Lauren.

During their walk, they saw a lot of cars with guys pass them on the road. Everytime they saw a guy with a girl in a car, Lauren looked down at her shoes.

When a new green Saturn LS, (which LS knew for sure that they were named after her, hehe) passed the girls with a guy inside with his arm around a girl that resembled Kel, Lauren picked up a rock and threw it at the truck. She missed by at least five feet.

LS felt bad for Lauren. "A scrub is a guy that thinks he's fine...also known as a busta. Always thinking 'bout what he wants and just sits on his broke a*s so..." LS started.

Lauren smiled and picked it up. "No! I don't want your number, No, I don't wanna give you mine and No, I dont wanna meet you nowhere, No, I dont want nonna yo time!" The girls giggled as they continued singing. Lauren started doing her "dance" that she did to the Moffatts "Until You Loved Me" and LS burst out laughing. They sang TLC all the way to LS's house, and Lauren temporarily forgot about the grudge she was now holding over Kel.

Scott stormed on the bus and closed the door. He threw open the curtain that separated the bus driver from the rest of the bus and walked in to find his brothers in their bunks and he saw the feet of Frank and Sheila in the back in the TV room.

Scott didn't care if Frank heard him. He put his hands on the side of Bob's bunk and stared at him angrily.

"What the f*ckin h*ll was that?" Scott yelled loud enough for the entire bus to hear. Bob looked at Scott and then turned his head.

Frank tore open the curtain that separated the TV room from the bunks. "Scott Andrew! You use language like that and I'll knock you into next week!" Frank yelled at his oldest son.

Scott pointed at Bob. "Kill him! If you don't I will!" Scott growled. Frank grabbed Scott's arm.

"You better explain yourself before I punish you worse than when I found out you were fooling around with Angie!" Frank ordered.

Scott pulled out of Frank's lock and stepped back. "The stupid prick is scaring the piss outta my girlfriend!"

Frank bowed his head. "LORD, give me strength!" Frank said, even though he wasn't much of a church-goer. "What girlfriend?" Frank said calmly.

"The one I got tonight." Scott said just as calm.

"She's not your girlfriend, stupid dick." Bob said and turned to his family.

"Alright, alright." Sheila said, hugging her husband's shoulders. "Let's talk this out. Scott, you go first." Sheila said. She took a seat on Dave's bottom bunk and watched both Bob and Scott.

Scott pursed his lips and then started to explain. "Clint said..."

"Leave me outta this!" Clint interrupted.

Frank gave Clint a stern look. "Everyone will be quiet while Scott explains." Frank ordered.

"Clint said that I should get a girlfriend. Then Bob said I should too. So I figured, what the h*ll, why not..." Scott continued but was interrupted again.

"Because I said not to, that's why!" Frank yelled.

"FRANK!" Sheila slapped her husband's arm from where she could reach him.

Frank shut his mouth and let Scott continue. "Anyway, so I saw this girl in the audience tonight and she was like gorgeous. I mean this girl is like, man. I can't even..." Scott's eyes wandered.

"We get the point." Clint said. Scott stopped and then continued.

"And so I was like 'ok why not her' and when we were leaving the autograph line she had a sign that said 'I love Scott' so I grabbed her wrist and pulled her back. Then we started kissing and Bob came out and started biting my head off about something that I don't even know!" Scott finished.

Sheila sighed. "Bob?"

"Well, we were in the middle of some song I don't even remember and this beautiful, like Scott said, girl looked at me and waved, and I was like "man she's gorgeous" so I was looking for her in the autograph line and didn't see her, so I was going to look for her later and then I see my brother and her kissing, what am I supposed to think? How does he always know?" Bob complained.

Scott rolled his eyes. Frank stood in silence while he contemplated the situation. "Where is she right now?" Frank asked.

Scott nodded his head towards the front of the bus. "Out there." He said.

Sheila shot up. "She must be terribly scared! Don't just leave her out there!" Sheila then disappeared out the bus door.

A few moments later, Sheila appeared with Kel back into the bunk room. If she hadn't been so shocked, Kel would've been excited to be in the Moffatts tour bus, but she was shocked at what was happening. It was one of those things that happened in fan fiction but not in real life!

Scott went and put his arm around Kel as best he could in the small space. "Guys, this is Kellyn." Scott said. Kel tried to crack a small smile but she could barely move. Scott brought her to his bunk and sat her down, and sat next to her.

Frank walked in front of Kel and Scott, looking at Kel. "I'm sorry about this whole thing, Kellyn. And I'm sorry but you're going to have leave. The guys are too busy touring to have a girlfriend lagging behind in some small town in Massachusetts. Kel's face turned red and she was fighting off tears.

Sheila had to sympathize. "Now Frank...you have no idea what this girl has probably went through tonight." Sheila said to her husband, pulling him to her side, away from Kel. "Kel, who came here with you tonight?" Sheila said sympathetically to Kel.

Kel looked up at Sheila. "My best friend, but I'm sure she's left by now." Kel looked at her hands that were resting in her lap.

"I can drive her home." Scott offered.

Frank pointed at Scott. "You're not going anywhere!"

Sheila nudged Frank. "I'll tell you what," Sheila said to Kel. "You can stay with us tonight. I'm sure your mom will want to know, though." Frank stared at his wife in shock.
