"I don't know, Kel. Why does anybody like anybody? I mean, you're amazing." Scott started, his eyes drifting to the moon above Kel's head.
"I don't want you to leave." Kel said, placing her head back on his shoulder.
"I don't want to leave you, Kel. But there's nothing I can do about it." Scott said, embracing Kel.
"I know." Kel whispered.
The two just hugged for awhile. Kel slowly pulled back and looked at her watch. Her eyes grew big. "Scott its almost four." Kel said.
Scott let go of Kel and walked a few paces away from her, putting his hand up to his head. Kel was confused.
"How far from here is Boston?" Scott asked, looking at Kel again.
Kel looked up in no specific direction and then back at Scott. "About 25 minutes, why?" He asked.
"Well that's not that far is it? I mean, half an hour big deal. Will you come to Boston with me?" Scott asked whole-heartedly. He looked hopefully at Kel.
Kel smiled. "I would love to but..." Kel started.
"Please say you will." Scott interrupted.
Kel smiled again. "I don't know, Scott. I'd have to call my mom." Kel said. Then she squeezed her eyes a bit. "Crap!" She said loudly.
Scott raised his eyebrows. "What?" He said, taking Kel's hand as he returned to her side and they started walking.
Kel's face dropped. "I'm with my dad this week and next starting tomorrow afternoon."
Scott looked at Kel. "What's so bad about that?" He asked.
"My dad is soooo over protective it's unbelievable. He says I can't date until I move out. He's so unlike my mom. It's awful. He won't let me go. He'll ground me for even asking." Kel said sadly.
Scott wanted to find Kel's dad and murder him. "Are you sure?" Scott asked.
Kel nodded slightly. Tears welled up in her eyes. Scott looked concerned.
"You okay?" He asked.
Kel nodded again. "I'm just tired. I need some sleep." She said. Scott nodded and the two turned and walked back to the tent. Scott made sure Kel was properly in her sleeping bag before zipping up the door and returning onto the bus.
Scott climbed into his bunk, forgetting about still wearing the t shirt and sweatpants. He stared at the bottom of the Bob's bunk. He thought maybe they could just take Kel, but if her dad was that strict, he might file a false rape or kidnapping charge against Scott or even Frank. Scott didn't know what to do. He really liked Kel. More than any other girl he'd ever met. He didn't want the relationship to end so quickly.
