Julie and Ashley, standing in only the glow of the light coming from inside, exchanged laughing glances. How stupid could they be.
"We really are dumb!" Ashley laughed. Julie nodded. The two girls giggled and smiled. Turning around, Julie reached for the door handle. She tried to pull it, but it wouldn't open. Julie's face dropped.
"What?" Ashley asked, getting more serious.
"S*it!" Julie yelled and yanked at the door several more times. It wouldn't budge. It was locked shut. Ashley thought Julie was kidding and laughed at her friend.
"Oh, ha ha!" Ashley said sarcastically and pushed her friend out of the way. She yanked at the door handle, but Julie was right--it wouldn't open.
Julie, worried, quickly checked all six doors. No luck. Julie looked at Ashley, as Ashley looked at Julie.
"We can't be locked out, Juliet. No way!" Ashley disputed. Julie looked at Ashley and laughed.
"I can't believe this is happening." Julie said and put her hand on her forehead.
Looking around, Ashley then pounded on the door as hard as she could. No one could hear her from all the hussle and bustle inside.
Ashley turned to her best friend and groaned. "This is not good!"
Julie was getting annoyed. Not necessarily at Ashley, but all the same she was pissed. "Why did we come out this way?? We didn't come in here, and this sure as heck ain't where your mom's coming! She's gonna be so worried, then tell my mom...How are we supposed to get back in?" Julie said, interrupting herself.
Ashley shrugged. "Wait for someone to come out, I guess..." Ashley said half-heartedly. That could be hours. No one even looked like they were headed this way.
Julie gave a big sigh and started to walk towards the glimmer she saw a few yards away. Ashley followed, unsure of where Julie was headed.
"Where are you going?" Ashley questioned.
Julie remained silent. She was going to go sit down somewhere and wait. Through lack of paying attention, Julie walked farther than she thought. She didnt' care though. She just wanted to sit down. Ashley followed.
Finding a non-lit place, Julie sat down against something big. She didn't care at this point what she sat against or, worse, in.
Ashley took a seat next to her friend and yawned. It had been quite the exciting night. Julie, hearing this, yawned also. Julie leaned in such a way that was comfortable against Ashley, and Ashley the same.
Julie looked at her friend. She could hardly see her. "Ash..." Julie started.
"Yeah?" Ashley replied, closing her eyes.
"How the heck did this happen?" Julie said and looked at her lap.
"I don't know. We are stupid." Ashley said. Julie giggled a little and then stopped.
At this point she realized how tired she was. Ashley did too. The two girl leaned against each other for support.
Just after Ashley and Julie had fallen into a light sleep, someone tripped over Julie. "FFFFF*CCCCKKKK!" The guy, obviously a teenager by his voice, yelled. Julie and Ashley awoke with a start.
What had happened? Julie realized she had almost tripped someone. She started to stand up and apologize, but the guy was already limping towards a bus. Julie felt horrible. She helped Ashley up and the two moved towards the bus to apologize to the stranger.
