"Mom, please listen to me. It was an accident!" Ashley was going to cry. She hated when anyone was mad at her, especially her mom.
Mrs. Whitaker understood this and knew that Ashley meant it. "Alright, Ashley. I believe you. Where are you right now?" She asked.
Ashley sniffled in, fighting the tears. She was not going to allow herself to cry in front of The Moffatts. She couldn't help it. She was a crier. Even when she was at school and had to go home sick, she cried when she called her mom.
"Ashley, honey, it'll be alright. Where are you?" Mrs. Whitaker asked, trying to be patient.
Ashley sniffled again and turned her back to the other people on the bus. "In the Moffatts' tour bus." Ashley said. Mrs. Whitaker didn't really believe her.
"Ashley, where are you really?" Mrs. Whitaker asked.
"I just told you! I really am!" Ashley said as tears rolled down her face.
"Alright, honey. How can I come and get you?" Mrs. Whitaker asked.
"I don't know."
Mrs. Whitaker sighed. This wasn't supposed to be that difficult to pick up her daughter and her friend. "Well, honey, please find out. Then call me back, okay? I'll be waiting in the side parking lot."
Ashley nodded even though her mom couldn't see and they said goodbye.
After they hung up, Ashley wiped her eyes. Noticing it would be a proper time, Julie hugged her friend. "It's okay, Ashley." Julie sympathized. Ashley nodded and asked if she could sit down.
Scott nodded and pointed to the back room. "If you go past that curtain there are some bean bag chairs and what-not. Me and my brothers will be back there soon." Scott offered generously.
Ashley headed towards the back and Julie mouthed a 'thank-you' to Scott. He nodded and Julie made her way to the back also. She closed the curtain behind her and sat down on a blue bean bag chair as Ashley relaxed in a sofachair. Julie noticed a box of kleenexes and handed it to Ashley.
After drying her eyes, Ashley looked at Julie who was just sitting watching Ashley. "Why do I do that?" Ashley asked.
"Do what, Ash?" Julie asked. She didn't need an answer. She knew.
"Cry everytime something happens." Ashley said and sighed at how emotional she was.
"Well...you're just...sensitive I guess." Julie said. Ashley looked at Julie like she was nuts.
"Thanks that helps." Ashley said sarcastically.
After about three minutes, Scott, Dave, Bob, and Clint appeared in the back room. It was kind of cramped so Clint stood in the doorway, holding the curtain with his hands.
"My dad and stepmom should be here soon. You can talk with them." Bob said to Ashley. Ashley nodded and smiled. She appreciated they were being so kind considering she was, what she thought, a crybaby.
"You guys must think I'm a total nutcase." Ashley accused with a little grin.
"No, no. Actually we don't." Scott said and grinned at Julie, not Ashley. Scott was becoming quite fond of Julie. She was extremely pretty and, from what he could tell, a nice person.
"That would be fun if you guys could spend the night here." Scott said and flashed a smile at Julie. Julie and Ashley both smiled but didn't say anything.
Clint kicked his brother's leg as best he could. Clint knew Scott wanted Julie. Now Clint wanted to help him get her. "Yeah, so like, what are your names?" Clint asked, realizing they hadn't introduced themselves.
Julie spoke up. "I'm Juliet, but I go by just Julie. And this is Ashley."
Scott, being a "real" guy, not just a "Moffatt" thought he should introduce him and his brothers. "I'm Scott, this is Clint, Bob, and Dave." The girls giggled.
"Oh really?" Julie laughed.
"So...what would you ladies like to do while we wait?" Scott asked. Clint saw this as his chance.
"How about...Spin The Bottle..." Clint suggested. Julie and Ashley's mouths hung open in shock. They couldn't believe what they just heard.
