chapter forty-eight

Kellyn walked slower, hoping to prolong her walk with Dustin and Ryan. "Over there is the gymnasium. Do you want to see it?" Kel asked.

Dustin and Ryan both shrugged and followed Kel into the musty gym. "I guess right now isn't the best time." Kel said, noticing the football team doing warm-ups. "Let's go." She lead the twins out of the gym and walked past the entrance to the auditorium. "We can't go in there. We're not allowed to."

Dustin and Ryan were focused on Kel. She was beautiful and they couldn't keep their eyes off of her.

"Well, guys. That's pretty much the school." Kel said, concluding her tour. It was lunch time and Kel had agreed to showing them around. Kel put her hands together and stood there having an akward moment.

"Wanna come over later?" Dustin asked, taking the initiative.

Kel smiled. "I'm flattered...but I don't think so. I mean I've known you for about an hour and a half I don't think I should be..."

Dustin gave Kel a look she couldn't refuse. "I suppose...but I'll have to call my mom." Kel realized Ryan was giving Dustin a dirty look. She didn't want that whole sibling rivalry thing again. "Um...actually I can't. I have to...uh...do...someth...ing" Kel said slowly.

Dustin wanted to ask what but didn't and the two thanked Kel and walked away. It was short-lived but Kel didn't want to start that whole sibling thing again. She wouldn't let the guys slip away that easy though. She had a plan.

Later that night, Kel laid in bed and thought of only Scott. She wondered what he was doing right then. Was he sleeping too? Was he playing a concert? Was he thinking about her? Another girl? She couldn't sleep.
