Sheila gave Scott an angered look. "Scott, would you let me get through this?"
Scott put his hands up in surrender and shut his mouth.
Sheila continued. "Billerica, Massachusetts, Boston, Massachusetts, then we fly up to Muskegon, Michigan, then Detroit. Then, vacation." She said and laid down the paper she had just been reading from.
Dave looked at Bob. Bob spoke up. "Hey Dad..." Bob said and looked at Frank.
"What is it, Bob?" Frank asked, never looking up from what he was writing.
Bob didn't hesitate. "What would you think about us getting girlfriends?" Bob grinned at Dave.
Frank stopped writing and looked up. "Haven't we been through this? It's completely out of the question." He went back to writing whatever it was.
"Ok, just so that's clear." Bob said and gave a strong look at Scott. He was more teasing him than anything else.
"Dad?" Scott asked sweetly.
"What is it, Scott?" Frank said annoyed, but continued to work.
"Is it okay if I beat Bob's ---?" Scott said as more of a statement than a question.
Frank got mad. "What did I tell you about using profanity Scott? No more!"
Scott looked down at his hands and then glared at Bob. Bob smiled which made Scott even more angry.
There was a silence. Clint stood up. "Well, I have a craving for a taco." The entire family looked at him like he was nuts. Scott saw this as his chance to escape his stupid family.Scott stood up. "I'll take you, Clint. Let's go." Scott said and glared at Bob again. Scott grabbed his sweatshirt and Clint followed him.
Scott got in the driver's seat and Clint got into the passenger seat. Scott fumbled with his keys and finally singled one out and put it in the ignition. Clint had been watching Scott and Bob's little spat and wanted to know what was going on. When it was quiet in the car and they were on the highway, Clint spoke up.
"What the h--- was that?" Clint asked.
"What the h--- was what?" Scott asked.
"That little fight between you and Bob. What's up with that?"
"He's being a dick. I wanted a girl and him and Dave are getting on my case about it." Scott said, keeping his eyes on the road.
"Oh." Clint said. Then he spoke again. "Who cares what Dad says, just grab a girl you think is hot that has an "I Love Scott" sign, take her backstage, and just like start making out." Clint suggested.
"That's what I thought, but..." Scott pulled up to a Taco Bell drive through and paused.
"Just a regular taco." Clint said and handed Scott a dollar-fifty.
"Welcome to Taco Bell, how may I help you?" A teen girl's voice said.
"Yeah, hi, I want just one regular beef taco, please." Scott said and put his elbow on the car window pane.
"Why that's a cute accent you have there." The girl said. Scott didn't quite expect that. "You're total is a dollar O five." She finished.
"Um, thanks..." Scott said. He pulled up to the first window. There stood a very attractive girl of about fifteen years old, obviously new to the job.
She didn't look at Scott, but instead hit the cash register, trying to get it to open after taking his money. She shook her head and started to look at him. "I'm sorry I can't seem to..." She stopped when she saw him. "Wow, you look like this one guy from this group I listen to..." She said.
Scott flashed a cute grin. "You mean The Moffatts?" He asked cutely.
She nodded and smiled. "Yeah."
"Yeah, I get that a lot." He said, not revealing his true identity.
She gave a quick one-giggle. "Oh, um..." The girl, Kellyn her name tag said, dug around her cash register to try to find a key. "I can't open the change drawer." She looked desperate and sad. She didn't want to be humiliated like this.
Scott decided to give her a break. "Ya know what, just keep the change. It's not much." He grinned and she did too.
"Thank you." She said. "Please pull up to the next window." Kellyn finished and flashed a grin.
Scott pulled up and got Clint's taco, then handed it to him.
Once on the highway again, Scott finished what he was saying. "See, I thought about just taking a girl and doing that, but I don't want to be known as a user. Just grabs any girl he sees and makes out with her."
Clint had a mouthful of lettuce. "I would." He smiled and chewed.
"You think I should do that?" Scott asked.
Clint gave a cunning smile and nodded.
Scott didn't know what to do.
