chapter fifty-three

Scott was somewhat shocked. "Excuse me?"

"I'm sorry, Scott. I just met you. I can't do that. Not before I really know you." Julie said, not looking Scott in the eyes.

Scott sighed and didn't say anything for a few moments. Then he looked at her and they both sat up fully. Scott put his arm around her middle again and whispered softly in her ear. "Are you sure? I'd love to get to know you, Julie."

Julie smiled but didn't given in. "Scott...please respect my decision." But that's not what Scott wanted to hear.

Scott pulled back. "I thought you liked me." He said, trying to make her feel guilty.

Julie was too naive to see that. "I do, Scott. Just give me some time, okay?"

Scott shot a look at her. "Time? Take a ------- clue, Julie! I'm leaving tomorrow!"

Julie was startled. She didn't really know what to say. She was kind of offended in a way. "Um, Scott..." She started.

Scott went back to his position beside her, hoping she was giving in. "Yeah?"

Julie got angry. Pushing him back, Julie said harshly, "Scott Moffatt, you are nobody! You think you're so special you can have any girl you want? Good! Fine! Anyone but me, because I won't put up with your ego! You may be famous, but you're a jerk, and I don't care for jerks. You have one thing on your mind all the time and it's driving me crazy! Goodbye!" Julie raged and stood up, walking the length of the bus, holding the curtain back just in time to tell Scott, who was watching her, "I'm burning all your CDs, prick! I hope you never sing another note!"
