Ashley and Juliet sat on Ashley's bed and flipped through the channels on the TV in Ashley's room. Julie looked at her friend.
"You think I gave up the chance of a lifetime?" Julie asked Ashley.
"I hope not." Ashley said.
Scott breathed a sigh of relief when he saw Kellyn's house. He drove quickly into the driveway and turned the car off. Then he stalled. What was he supposed to say? What could he say? He felt extremely powerless. But wasn't this what he had been waiting for? He decided to finally get out of the car and walk up to the front door.
Knocking, his heart started to beat quicker. He didn't realize girls could cause this much. He hadn't really ever cared about a girl like he cared about Kel. When there was no answer, Scott knocked nervously and rang the doorbell twice.
Dang it! Scott thought, hoping he was wrong and she was home. After awhile he decided it was no luck and he'd have to come back later that night.
Getting back in the car he slowly pulled out and drove back to the hotel. Once he was there, he got out and went to the room where the rest of the family was. Knocking on the door, Scott sighed and wondered where Kel could be. Sheila opened the door and let him in. Scott walked in and headed for one of the beds.
"That was quick." Clint said as he noticed Scott on the other bed.
"She wasn't home, dumba--." Scott said and closed his eyes. It wasn't even evening and he was tired. It had been a very long day.
"Language." Frank warned from the room that was attached to the one that the guys were in.
"Sorry dad." Scott lied.
"So are you going back later?" Clint asked.
Scott did not want to be bothered. "Duh." Clint decided that he wanted to go too but didnt say anything yet.
Kel sighed and decided she couldn't let this happen. "NO!"
Mrs. Archer jumped a little and looked at her daughter. "Kellyn..."
"Mom, I'm serious. I'm not hanging out with him. No. No way." Kel insisted.
Mrs. Archer looked at Mr. Archer. "You did walk out on us. You didnt send cards or anything."
"Deb, I'm sorry, I..."
"You're right Kellyn. Let's go." Mrs. Archer said and started to pull out.
"We came all this way and now we're going back. Can we at least go shopping for awhile? I mean, they have an Abercrombie hear and we dont have one." Kel said.
"No, I want to go home." Mrs. Archer said and pulled onto the highway again.
