The Gallygows
pop from Spain |
my opinion: |
The Gallygows are the new
revelation in the Spanish pop scene. Psychedelic
Pink Floyd-like songs, touching harmonies, the
influences by Radiohead, they are all present on
their latest album, "Give It To Her"
(2000). The band members Alex Loscos, Eduardo
Hernandez and Alberto Hernandez (Eduardo's little
brother), Roger Rodes and Felix Vives, switch
instruments and do four parts harmonies with
scary naturalness.
"Give It To Her"
has been released in several countries, which
include Spain, the US and Japan, which is the
destination of the 2002 tour. The Gallygows has
already toured with some of their heroes (Pernice
Brothers, The Posies). Jon Auer of The Posies
even produced their latest album.
If you're planning on
checking out Gallygows songs, try "Roller
Disco Combo". It's a very infectuous 80s pop
song.
