nce upon a time there was a seventh grader. His name was Kevin and he pretty much led the boring life of a typical middle schooler. One day he decided to learn how to play the guitar. His parents bought him a beginners guitar and got him enrolled in guitar lessons.

Kevin’s good friend Dan saw him playing this guitar one day and immediately realized something. He too wanted to know how to play this magical object. It had been a life long dream and until then, he was forced to settle for the air guitar. Dan bought a guitar and plans were made for Kevin and Dan to start a rock band. They both learned how to play lots of Green Day, weezer, and Offspring songs (these were the bands they loved most).

The band never took off. Instead, when High School started, Kevin and Dan grew apart. They scarcely spoke to each other until their senior year. Suddenly, the interest in forming a band was renewed! Kevin and Dan got together several times and “rocked out” writing some original material (some of which later became known as “Give Up” and “Lainey”).

But this wasn’t enough. These two reunited friends needed more. They needed a drummer and bassist! That’s where Kyle fits into our puzzle. They had seen Kyle play in his former band at local concerts and were completely blown away by his ability to drum. They asked him to “jam” with them and he quite lamely replied, “Duh...okay.”. Dan and Kevin were in absolute awe when Kyle put a drum beat to their songs. It was better than they had ever expected--but something was still missing...

Dan knew Dave--and knew that Dave could play bass really freaking well. So, Dave was asked to come to a “jam session” and Exclamation Red was born.

The band played lots of shows with some great bands (including The Impossibles and Ultimate Fakebook) and recorded an album. Unfortunately, Dave had to leave Ex Red to begin his services to the United States of America in the Coast Guard.

While Dave is greatly missed, Ex Red needed a new bassist. Rich is now a full time member of the band. He adds his own spice and flavor to the songs--and manages to "keep it real" on the old songs. He's a really cool guy and Exclamation Red is enthralled to have him onboard.
