While we were crammed in the lobby, like sardines, I saw Mr Danko Jones, I said "Hi Danko!" to him. I think he was surprised somebody knew who he was, it took him a minute to realise who said it, then he smiled and nodded. Then I bought my shirt, (the one that says Sloan in Japanese), and preceded to stand in their for half an hour! I did get to sit third row centre though, I didn't bother going any further up, because I could see, I was happy!
Danko Jones came out, and boy could they rock! You could feel the bass shaking your heart around your chest! He put on a fabulous show, his persona was hilarious, but I don't think everybody agreed. But then, I know the REAL Danko. (I know your laughing, but, he's my friend, no he's not, I'm just lonely hehehe). He shined his guitar in my face, I think that's his signal for, "Hi Casey!" (okay, okay, maybe not).
Now on to the boys themselves. They were fab, (What? You expected them to suck, not in a million, babe). My little sister, (who accompanied me) and myself did not stop rockin'! We were very happy that Chris did so many rock kicks! I heard Patrick was sick though, what a trooper! What can I say about Jay, he's even more adorable in person. And Andrew, the word hottie comes to mind, (insert school girl giggles).
I weirdest part of the show was when, after a rockin' rendition of Delivering Maybes Chris told us to sing the chorus until they came back. That's not the weird part, almost all of the people who sang sung "Delivering babies" what the hell? Okay, needless to say, I don't know what to say.*Note: I have been informed that those are the words! duh!*
The highlight of the show was of course the finale of Money City Maniacs. In the sing along part Chris led my side "The Party Side" and Pat led the other side "Who cares side". Yup I was on "The Party Side", expect anything else?
Here are some quotes from zee show:
Danko:
"Do you want some cream in your coffee, meaning me?"
"Do you want some blue berries in your plain, white, yogurt?"
Sloan:
Chris: "I don't trust anybody past Alberta, (boo's from the crowd) No, in the other direction"
"This is the side with all the Jay fans. The teddy bears and mini-back packs crowd"
"This side's the party side, that side's the who cares/ who are Sloan? side"
"A lot of you stoped singing!" (Referring to the Delivering Maybes/babies thing)
(Sorry, I don't think the other guys got to say much!)
Concert Experience
On March 29 I went to see Sloan. It was my birthday present, and I had waited a month for it. First off just let me mention the crappy things that happen, so I can get it off my chest (skip over it, I don't care). Of course Sloan were great, but the only thing that bothered me was this drunk girl in front of me who kept on jumping up and down, to get Sloan's attention, and crying. I was very happy when she was dragged out! I also had to wait 2 ½ hours, but that was mostly my own doing.
