~Chapter 5~
"Hey." he said. "I am so sorry I wasn't there last night. I hope I can make it up to you." I stared at the screen for awhile. I didn't really know what to say.
"Are you there?" he asked.
"Oh yeah I'm here. Now I really don't believe you are A.J. Why did you lie to me?"
"I didn't." he replied. "Please meet me somewhere. Same place in an hour. I'm bringing Howie and Kevin with me. Please?"
I sat there awhile to think. Do I really want to set myself up for rejection again? What the hell, you never know, it could be.
"Yeah all right. I'll bring two of my friends. I'll be carrying a red rose. This is your last chance." I got off before he could answer me. First I called Kim.
"Hello?" Came a voice on the other end. It was Kim's younger brother Dave.
"Hey can I talk to Kim?"
"Yeah." I heard some yelling in the background and finally she picked up the phone.
"Hello?"
"Hey Kim get ready we are going to try this again."
"You mean we are going to try and meet them again?" she asked.
"Yep and I have to call Tara because he said that he is bringing Howie too. Well if he
really is A.J. of course."
"OK I'll be ready." I hung up the phone and called Tara's house.
"Hello?" she said when she picked it up.
"Hey get ready you're coming with me and Kim somewhere. No time to explain I'll pick
you up in 10 minutes."
"Ok." she said. I hung up the phone, redid my hair and makeup and went out the door to pick up my two friends.
~Chapter 6~
We got to the beach about 5 minutes ahead of time. I picked up a rose before I picked Kim and Tara up.
"So what is this all about Tracy?" Tara asked confused.
"You'll see soon enough....hopefully." I answered.
"This is so stupid." Kim said to me.
"Yeah well now we will know if it really is......" I forgot what I was saying when I
spotted them. It really was A.J., Kevin, and Howie from the Backstreet Boys.
"Oh my god look who is over there." Tara said.
"I know we are meeting them here." I answered still staring at the three guys who were still looking for us. Finally they spotted us and started walking to us.
"I can not believe this. Tracy you are the best." Kim said with her eyes glued on Kevin.
"Oh my god." Was all I could say.
"Hey I told you I wasn't lying." A.J. said to me. "Believe me now?"
"Well I don't know." I said jokingly. "Oh these are my friends Tara and Kim." All they could do was stare.
"Well I think we will leave you guys alone so you can get to know each other." A.J. said gently pulling me away. We wondered down towards the water talking small talk.
"I'm glad you gave me another chance." A.J. said. "I still feel bad about not being here last night."
"Well I think you made up for it."
"I really wanted to meet you. You are so different from other girls. I don't know how."
"Like I haven't heard that one before." I said.
"Well it's true." he said. I just smiled.
We walked along the beach hand in hand for awhile. We watched the sun set together and
decided that it was time to go since I had school the next day. I gave A.J. my phone number and he gave me his.
"Well it was really nice meeting you." A.J. said. He gave me a friendly kiss on the lips and he, Kevin, and Howie left.
"Oh my god." Tara said.
"My thoughts exactly." I said.
*The next day at school*
"So what's up with you and A.J.?" Tara asked as she and Kim came to my locker after school. I didn't get to talk to them all day.
"We are just friends. How about you guys? Any sparks fly between you and the guys?"
"Yes we are dating them. Just friends you say? Come on Tracy A.J. has fallen head over heals for you." Kim said.
"And I know you really like him too." Tara added.
"Yeah well you guys know what happened last time with my boyfriend, and the time before that, and even the time before that. I don't think I would be able to handle that all over again."
My last three boyfriends have all cheated on me, lied to me, and every rotten thing that you could do to a person. I swore to myself that I would never let anyone in that easy ever again.
Tara and Kim didn't say anything. They knew what I have been through and understood how I felt. We said our good-byes and went home. I ran into the house just as the phone rang.
"Hello?" I said out of breath.
"Hey babe." came the sweetest voice imaginable.
~Chapter 7~
"Hey called just in time I just got home. So what's up?" I walked into the living room
and laid down on the couch.
"Oh nothing I just wanted to hear your voice again." A.J. answered.
"Oh I see." There was a short pause.
"Well the guys are all coming over to my house tonight and I was wondering if you and your friends wanted to come."
"Well let me think...hmm....Yeah I can come." I said. "You don't have to ask me twice. And I just happen to have two extra friends so I will bring them along."
"Sounds good. So I'll see you around 7 then?"
"Yeah." He gave me his address and we hung up.
~Wow he only lives 15 minutes away. I thought it was a lot farther than that.~ I thought.
I called up Kim, Tara, Carrie, and Larissa and told them about the little get together. Only I didn't tell Carrie or Larissa who we were going to meet. I wanted it to be a surprise.

Our last stop was Tara's house. Larissa was already over there and they were waiting outside for Kim, Carrie, and I to get there.
"Well I think it might be a little easier if you take your car." I said to Tara when we got there.
"Well I don't know where he lives." she said.
"Where who lives?" Larissa asked.
"Just follow me." I said ignoring Larissa?s question.
"Oh all right." Tara and Larissa got into Tara's car and they followed me.

"Wow this is a big house. What kind of friends do you have that you aren't telling us
about?" Carrie said as we pulled into A.J.'s driveway. All of the guys were already there. I could tell since there were five cars parked in the driveway. We all got out of the two cars and walked to the front door. I rang the doorbell and waited for someone to answer.
"This is such a big house." Tara commented.
"Yeah I know." I agreed. Then I heard some loud thumping coming closer and closer to the door. I could tell that whoever it was, was running. The door flew open and out came A.J.
"Hey sorry it took so long." He said. I looked back to see Larissa and Carrie's reactions. It was priceless. Their eyes were wide open and their jaws were to the ground. they stood there like that for awhile. I couldn't help but laugh.
"Ok time to say hello A.J." Kim said waving her hand in front of both of there faces.
"Hi!" they said in unison.
"Hey. Carrie and Larissa right? It's nice to meet you." They both nodded. They still had
the same look on there faces.
"Ok snap out of it. A.J. is a regular person like me and you. I'm sure you would like to
meet the rest of the guys so why don't we try going inside? Come on you can do it one step at a time." I said.
Finally we walked into the house and found the other guys in the living room. Immediately Kim and Tara went to say hi to Kevin and Howie while Carrie ran over to Nick and Larissa went to talk to Brian. I was left alone with A.J. which I didn't really mind.
Everyone seemed to be hitting it off. We were all in our own little worlds most of the time but a few times we got into a group discussion. It was so weird that everyone was paired off.
"I just was to make sure." A.J. started to say. "You don't have a boyfriend right?"
"No I don't." I answered. ~Uh oh. I'm not ready for a relationship. Not after what happened to me in the past.~ I thought.
"Good." he smiled. "I don't have a girlfriend. But I hope to be dating soon if you know what I mean."
"I don't know A.J." I said looking him in the eye. "I have had some really bad
relationships. I just don't think it's right to be dating anyone. Not right now."
"It's ok." he said getting closer. "I can wait." He kissed my forehead. I wanted to date
him so bad, but I didn't think that I could handle another break up or anything like that. I was still getting over my last one.
~Chapter 8~
It got to be 1:00 AM before everyone decided to go home. It didn't matter to me since
my parents we out of town for a month. I didn't have to worry about them catching me
coming home so late. I was the last one to leave A.J.'s. Kim, Carrie, and Larissa got a
ride from Tara so I wouldn't have to be in such a hurry to leave.
"It was nice seeing you again." A.J. said softly as he got closer.
"Yeah it was nice seeing you too." I said trying not to pay attention to him getting closer and closer to me. He moved a few strands of hair away from my face. Then he finally
leaned down and kissed me. Something was telling me to stop. That it wasn't right. But something also told me that this was a good thing and not to let it bother me.
~This isn't right.~ I thought. I quickly pulled away.
"I'm sorry." he apologized.
"No that's ok." I said. "I have to get going." And with that I walked out the door and went home.
----------
"You kissed him? Awe you guys look so cute together." Larissa said over the phone. It was 2:00 on Saturday. I couldn't take it anymore I just had to tell someone what had happened the other night so I called Larissa.
"Are you guys dating yet?" she asked.
"No. Come on you know what my past relationships were like. I'm sure you wouldn't
want to date anyone again until you were 50 also!"
"Tracy you are over reacting. Yes I know they hurt you but does A.J. look like someone
who would cheat on you, or do anything that would hurt you?"
"No but....."
"I rest my case." she interrupted. "Sorry Trace I gotta go so I'll talk to you later."
"Bye." I hung up the phone and thought about what she said. Something was just telling
me to stay away from A.J. I just didn't know what.
----------
*That night*
I was on the computer that night as usual talking to some of my online friends. I was hoping that maybe A.J. would be on but he wasn't. I was so bored. All of my friends went out with the guys so I was left with no on to talk to. I figured that A.J. wouldn't be home. I didn't want to call him because I didn't have anything to say. I jumped when I heard the doorbell. I got up and ran downstairs to get the door.
