~Chapter 57~ *At AJ’s House* “So you think this will work?” AJ asked while pacing his house. “Yeah, you know Liv, she always loves the sappy stuff.” Brian answered on the other end of the phone. “Ok, so I’ll apologize, pour my heart out, and then pop the question.” “Sounds like a plan. Everything will go smoothly, don’t worry.” “Then why am I nervous, I never am.” “I don’t know, and how am I supposed to know?” “Your Dr. Brian, master of figuring out people.” “Oh, so I’m a doctor and a chef, interesting combination.” “What are you talking about man?” “Never mind. Shouldn’t you be getting ready?” “Oh yeah, thanks Rok, I’ll talk to you tomorrow.” “See ya.” “Bye.” AJ hung up the phone and started getting ready himself. ---------- “Why did I even come out here?” Olivia asked herself as she got out of her truck. She grabbed her flashlight before shut the door and started toward a trail in the woods. The moon was full and the light shown through the trees but she felt better with the flashlight so she knew what she was stepping on. She finally made it to the clearing with the pond where AJ and Olivia had gone to a few times already. Not to mention the same night when Jamie ended up at the circus. That was a night she never forgot and she never let Jamie forget either. She looked around but didn’t see anyone. She figured she was a little early so she waited. She sat in the grass next to the pond and looked up at the stars. There were a few clouds in the sky and off in the distance it looked like it was going to rain. She could still see the stars, which is what she loved going out there for. She heard something move behind her in the woods. “Shit!” she heard AJ yell as he ran out into the clearing. “There is something following me!” Olivia flashed her flashlight to the path. There was nothing there. “Well I thought there was something.” Olivia shook her head and clicked off the light. AJ walked over to her and sat down next to her. He handed her a bouquet of flowers. “More to add to my collection.” She sighed. “Flowers aren’t going to do anything except make my house smell like a garden.” “I know that.” He said. “But I thought it might help a little.” There was a short silence between them. “Thanks for coming out here.” “Well I couldn’t just not come.” Again there was another silence. “Ok I guess it’s now or never.” AJ said. “I can not begin to tell you how sorry I am. I was being a complete moron and I would completely understand if you never wanted to see me again. I’m scum, I’m that piece of chewed gum that lost its flavor. I’m dirt. I’m….” “Ok I get the point.” Olivia interrupted. “Sorry. As I was saying. If you would forgive me, I promise you I would never do anything like that again.” Olivia sat there for a minute while looking at the pond. “AJ I completely over reacted over the whole thing. I don’t know I guess I was just jealous that Kevin proposed to Jamie in such a sweet way and then my psychotic drunk boyfriend and his friend comes along making the neighbors angry with this mariachi band that they found god knows where.” “You were jealous of Jamie and Kevin?” “Yeah maybe. It’s just that I wanted something like that and you came along more drunk than I’ve ever seen you, and you ask me. It just wasn’t cool.” “I am so sorry. I would do anything to make it up to you.” “Just forget about it. It’s not a big deal really it isn’t.” Olivia said. “No no I know what I can do.” He stood up and held out his hands to help Olivia up. He led her to the other side of the pond where the light was better and he stood there staring at her. “You’re looking at me funny.” She said getting a little uncomfortable. She smirked a little bit. “And your palms are a little moist. Are you nervous?” Her face dropped when she figured out what he was about to do. He knelt down before her and took her hand. “Oh my god.” She said. “Olivia, I love you more than I can every show you. I want to spend the rest of my life with you and beyond that. Will you marry me?” “Yes.” “Oh thank god!” he stood up and kissed her and then hugged her. “Oh I forgot about the ring.” He dug into his pocket and brought out a red box. He opened it, exposing a diamond ring. “It’s beautiful.” She said. He put it on her finger and he hugged and kissed her again. ~1 Month Later~ “Where are my parents? I mean it’s the day of my med school graduation, and they’re late.” Jamie said pacing the house. “They’ll be here, just sit down.” Kevin said. She sat down for five minutes until the doorbell rang. “Hi,” Jamie said opening the door. AJ was standing there. “Hey, nice gown.” He said. “Thanks.” Olivia came downstairs, fifteen minutes later all of the guys, and Jamie’s parents showed up. “Ok, we ready to go?” Jamie said. Everyone piled into their cars and drove to the ceremony. After the ceremony, they came back to the house to find people waiting outside. “Well, well well, look how decided to show up.” Lindsay said. “Hello to you too.” Olivia said giving her a hug ~Chapter 58~ *3 hours later* “Hey, can I have everyone’s attention.” Jamie said, “I’d just like to thank everyone for their support over the years. These last like 8 years have been very long, but with all of you guys there to help me, they’ve gone by easier. Mom, Dad, thanks for pushing me during high school. Olivia, Lindsay, Ashley, thanks for being the best friends I could ask for. AJ, Howie, Brian, Nick, thanks for saving me from endless nights for studying. And finally, Kevin, the love of my life, thank you for being there for me always, and thank you for committing the rest of your life to me. I love you. Now you can all wake up now, and party.” ~4 months later~ “I don’t think I can take this anymore.” “Olivia. We’ve only been working on this for an hour.” Said Jamie while looking through about three different books at the same time. “Yeah I know but how am I supposed to make all of these decisions? I’m making them for two different weddings! This is to hard for me.” “Olivia don’t lie you know you love this.” “Yes. Yes I do.” She smiled. “But how about we take one thing at a time and not look at three different things so we can actually make a decision?” “Sounds good. How about wedding dresses?” “You read my mind.” They looked through catalog after catalog and found the perfect one for both of them. “The guys will flip when they see these.” Olivia said happily. “Yeah at least you get to wear yours in less than a year. I still have to wait for August to come around again.” “Oh my god I still can’t believe I’m going to get married. This is all too much for me.” “It’ll all sink in, in time.” Said Jamie. “Now what do you say we take a look at brides maids dresses?” “Sounds good.” Just then Kevin and AJ walked in the door. “Hey ladies.” Said Kevin as they brought in boxes of different things they needed to pick from for the weddings. “We did our homework.” Said AJ set the boxes on the table on top of piles of books. “No more, take it away.” Olivia said covering her face. Kevin and AJ gave Jamie confused looks. “She’s had enough all ready.” She explained, “What did you guys get?” “Well, here’s a flower book, catering listings, invitations, travel guides, and about everything else that we don’t have here already.” Kevin said. “But the best part is, we bought cake.” AJ pulled out a little container. They all tried pieces, and decided on what they liked best. Jamie and Kevin decided on a marble one, and AJ and Olivia on a yellow cake. “Oh, we did choose something while you two were gone.” Olivia said. “Really, what?” AJ asked. “We found our dresses.” They showed them what they picked out. Jamie picked a sleeve-less dress, with a bell cut skirt and a beaded bodice. Olivia on the other hand refused to show her dress. She wanted it to be a surprise. "So, did you two pick out tuxes yet?" Jamie asked. "Not yet, we'll get them soon enough." Kevin said. ~Chapter 59~ ~4 hours later~ "Ok, so what else do we need to do?" AJ asked. "Well, we could start our guest list." Olivia suggested. "Why don't we just wait and do that tomorrow, we've been at this all day." "Sounds good to me." Olivia shut the flower book she was looking at. Just them Brian, Nick and Howie walked into the house. "Hello happy couples." Brian said. "Wow, did someone buy a book store or something?" Nick said noticing all of the books. "Close to it." Jamie replied. “I have never realized how hard this is.” Olivia said dropping the book on the floor. “So what are y’all doing tonight?” Brian asked taking a seat on a chair across the room from them. “Anything. Don’t make me make a decision. I have decisions coming out of my ears.” Said Olivia. “All right.” Said AJ. “Liv I know exactly what will make you and Jamie feel better.” “And what would that be?” Olivia asked. “A night out dancing.” “Oh you read my mind.” Said Jamie. "Ok, we'll change, and you guys stay right here." Olivia said. 15 minutes later, the girls came down stairs. "Excuse me for saying this guys," Brian said, "But your fiances are looking fine tonight." Jamie was wearing pink hot pants with a black tube top, while Olivia was wearing a black leather skirt, and a red halter top. "Since when did you wear leather?" AJ asked looking her over. "What you don't like it?" She replied. "No, no I love it." "Jamie, wow." Was all Kevin could get out. "Thank you." "I've never seen either of you in those clothes before. Did you just get these or something?" Nick said. "Actually we did. There was some store going out of business, so we stoped in. How could we pass up $5 pants, and a $2 top." Jamie said. "So are we going or not?" Brian asked. ~At the Club~ "We'll go get you guys drinks." AJ said when he and Kevin left. "Hey baby, I've never seen you around here before." Some scrubby looking guy said to Olivia. They just tried to ignore him. "I was never a very religious man before you came here, but now, I believe in angles." The scrubs friend said to Jamie. "That's a new one, did you think of that yourself?" Jamie asked. "Oh, you have a mouth for a pretty one don't ya? Scrub Two said. Just then AJ and Kevin came up behind the two guys. "Can we help you two?" Kevin asked. "Yeah, you can get away while were with our women." Scrub One said. "Wait, were your women, I don't think so. Explain these." Olivia and Jamie held up their rings. “Oh that doesn’t mean a thing. What do you say you drop these losers and come with us.” Said scrub two. “Yeah we’ll show you a good time.” Scrub one chimed in and put his hand on Olivia’s shoulder. “Don’t touch me.” She said while swiping his hand away. “Hey you don’t need to talk to the ladies like that.” Kevin said. The two guys turned around. “And what are you going to do about it?” asked scrub two. “How about I break your face.” AJ said getting ready to take a swing. “AJ come on.” Olivia said leading him to the other side of the club. “It’s not worth it.” Jamie did the same thing. Luckily that was the last time they saw those two guys. Kevin and AJ never left the girls side after that. Not that the girls cared. After about three hours of dancing they all went out to Denny’s for a late dinner. At first, it was just AJ, Olivia, Jamie and Kevin there, but Brian, Nick, and Howie showed up later. "Fancy meeting you here." Brian said when he spotted them. "Now how great is this place?" Nick asked. "I think it's the only place on Earth that you can get a piece of pie at 2:30 in the morning. God bless America." "How much did he drink?" Jamie asked. "Not much." Howie answered. They all ordered, and started talking. "So Nick, how's Jessica?" Kevin asked. "Fine." He replied. "Wait, who's Jessica?" Olivia asked. "Nick's girly-friend." Brian said in a high pitched feminine voice. "You have a girlfriend, and you never told me?" Olivia said offended. "She's not exactly my girlfriend. We went out last week, and that's all." "But, you do have a date tonight with her." Brian added. After that, Olivia wouldn't talk to Nick. She said that she was mad that he was keeping secrets from her. So Nick spent the rest of the time trying to make her laugh, and it worked after a while. ~Chapter 60~ “Are we done yet?” Olivia asked. “No there’s one more thing we need to do.” Answered AJ. “And what would that be?” “We have to make a seating arrangement for dinner.” Olivia groaned and her head dropped to the table. AJ wrapped his arm around her and started talking again. “Just think, once we get this done we’re done. The last thing to do would be getting married.” “That’s all I wanted to do. Who’s idea was it to make it all so difficult anyway?” “Olivia you know you love this so stop complaining.” Jamie said while passing them. “Have fun you and don’t do anything I wouldn’t do” and with that she walked out the door. “Where is she going?” AJ asked. “I don’t know, probably somewhere with Kevin.” They worked on the list for about two hours and were finally able to get it all finished. “Remind me why we are feeding three-hundred people again.” Said Olivia. “Because we can.” “Oh ok.” ---------- “Olivia talk about doing things at the last minute.” Jamie said while she and Olivia searched for the right bride’s maid dress. “Hey I’m sorry. I forgot all about it can you believe it.” “I thought you had one picked out already.” “Yeah I did but then I changed my mind.” “How about this one?” Michelle one of Olivia’s bride’s maids asked. It was a sleeveless blue dress that went all the way down to the floor. It was perfect. “Yes I love it.” Olivia said happily. Everyone was fitted and Olivia managed to get all the dresses died a different shade of blue for each person. The maid of honor, who was Jamie, would have the lightest shade and the other girls’ dresses would get darker. ---------- "Where were you two?" AJ asked when Olivia and Jamie opened the door to their house. "Shopping, and why are you guys in our house?" Olivia answered. Kevin was there too. "Well, we came over and you weren't home, so we let ourselves in." "So, did you get your tux?" Olivia asked. "Yes." AJ answered. "What does it look like?" "Since I don't know what your dress looks like, you can't know." "Oh, please tell me it's normal. It's nothing like that thing you had on for the Grammy's right? You know, white, top hat, the works. You know how much this means to me. I have been looking forward to a traditional wedding for my whole life." "Don't worry, it's as normal as I can get."
