~Chapter 8~ I woke up to find that I'd been sleeping for 3 hours.  I didn't think I would actually be able to sleep.  AJ came in the door slowly and closed it behind him. "Hey are you ok?"  AJ asked.  "You've been in here for a long time." "Yeah I'm fine I just fell asleep."  I answered.  I stood up and stretched a little bit.  Then I walked up to AJ and gave him a long hug.  I sighed and let go to look up at him.  He gave me a small smile and I smiled back.  Only he can make me smile at a time like this. "You wanna join the others?"  I asked. "Nah.  Why don't we stay here for awhile." ---------- "I wonder if the rest are ok."  Wendy said breaking the silence that they've had for the past 10 minutes.  They were all so bored and didn't know what to do that they just sat there looking at each other. "Yeah me too."  Nick said. "Shut up Nick I don't want to hear anything from you anymore."  Colleen snapped.  It wasn't just the food thing that made her mad.  She just didn't get along with him so she needed something to be mad at him for.  Nick stayed quiet for awhile along with the rest. ---------- AJ and I finally went and joined the rest of the group who were playing I spy.  They must have been very bored to play that game. "Oh what were you two doing in there for so long?"  Casey said with a sly smile.  I glared at her then smiled and sat down.  AJ sat on the floor in front of me. "Why is it so cold in here?"  Beth asked. Brian got up to go turn the heat up.  He gave us a weird look. "Uh I think it's broken."  he said. "What do you mean it's broken?"  I asked. "I mean it's not working.  Meaning there's no heat.  It says its 80 in here and it's not 80.  It's too cold to be 80." "Oh great can my vacation get any better?"  I said.  "Oh yeah it does!  We have no food or water!  I don't think I've ever had this much fun in my life!" "We're going to die in here!"  Beth groaned. "Well we have a lot of blankets in here for when it really gets cold."  Kevin said. "Ok back to our game.  I'm thinking of a number 1-10 what is it?"  Brian asked. "9."  Casey answered. "Hey how'd you know?" "Because you pick it every time!" "I spy with my little eye something white."  I said. "The couch."  said Beth. "Nope." "The chairs."  said Casey. "Nope the snow!  That damn snow that has a trapped in here and we're going to die because we have no heat!" "Will you shut up!?"  Beth yelled.  "Freaking out like that isn't going to help at all!" ---------- Everyone pretty much split up in the cabin and did anything that would keep them busy. Colleen and Cindy were making shadow puppets on the wall from a flashlight that they found.  Howie and Wendy were making out in the corner  They've been at it for about 10 minutes now which made Nick sick.  He was planning a trick on them to get them to stop.  He was laughing to himself as he thought up his evil scheme.  Ryley ended up falling asleep from being so bored.  Nick wanted her to help him out but he didn't want to wake her. ~Chapter 9~ Everyone was freezing.  We had 3 blankets on us and were still shivering.  I was going nuts sense I had nothing to do.  When I don't do anything I get sort of hyper and act strange.  It was amusing to some people while really annoying to others. "Just got paid Friday night, party hopping feelin right."  I started to sing. Casey glared at me.  "Please if you have to sing something sing something that isn't by Nsync." "There's somethin about the way you move that caught my eye...." Beth cut me off by saying, "Oh my god!  Anything but that!" "If you lay down lay down beside me...." "Shut up shut up shut up."  she kept repeating as I was singing. "You can get on inside me I can get on inside you too." AJ was looking at me with this funny grin on his face.  He must have found this quite amusing.  I was bored out of my mind and didn't care if I was annoying anyone.  Or making them laugh. "Ok that's enough of that song."  I said.  "Come on you guys we have to do something to pass the time.  I'm going to go crazy if we don't.  Unless you want me to sing again.  I won't mind doing that you know.  Because that's what I do for a living...sing.  Or I can just sit here and ramble on and on like I'm doing right now.  I know you don't like it when I do this because last time I did this you yelled at me.  But I don't care if you yell at me because you know what?..."  AJ cut me off by putting his hand over my mouth. "Thank you."  said Brian, "Are you going to be quiet now?"  AJ asked me.  I shook my head yes and he let go. "I'm bored that's why.  Now are we going to do something or do you want to listen to me talk for hours on end because I have no problem with talking for so long.  I'm starting to enjoy listening to myself.  I think that's a bad thing." "What time is it?"  Beth asked.  Kevin looked at his watch. "3:00."  he answered. ---------- It was really starting to get cold in the other cabin.  Everyone had about 3 layers of clothes on.  They were all starting to get worried about everyone else in the other cabin.  They didn't even know if they were ok or not.  Nick never got to play his evil little joke on Howie and Wendy.  They stopped making out before he figured out his whole plan.  Colleen went exploring around the cabin.  Cindy thought she was crazy because the cabin wasn't all that big and it's not like they hadn't seen anything in there.  But it was something to do. "I am so hungry!"  Colleen said as she joined the rest in the living room.  She plopped down on the couch to pretty much just sit there and stair at the wall with the others.  Wendy stood up and slowly walked around the room.  Everyone else was watching her to see what she was doing. "What is it?"  Howie asked. "I smell food."  she said. "How can you smell food?"  Colleen asked.  "I think I would be able to smell it before anyone I'm so damn hungry." "Ok I don't really smell it but I hear it."  she said.  The room got quiet and soon they could hear crunching noises.  It was coming from the closet.  Wendy and the others went to the closet and opened the door to see Cindy eating a bag a chips. "She's been holding out on us get her!"  Colleen yelled.  She grabbed the chips and she sat down on the couch to eat them.  The rest flocked over there and they were all trying to steel the bag. "Hold it!"  Wendy yelled.  They all stopped and looked at her.  She took the bag and said, "This is all the food that we have.  Who knows how long we're going to be here.  I think we should save it." They all looked at each other and thought about it for a few minutes. "Nah."  she all said at the same time.  And they began to fight over the bag again. ~Chapter  10~ *8:00* There weren't more than two people in a room by that night.  No one could stand each other any more.  They have been spending too much time together in such a small place.  The guys and I could handle that on tours and everything of course but we all got some breaks from each other.  We weren't all in the same room doing nothing all day.  It was completely different.  AJ and I were in our room just talking. "Well if this isn't spending quality time together I don't know what is."  AJ smirked. "Tell me about it."  I said.  I got up and opened the closet door. "What are you doing?"  AJ asked. "I just want to see if there is anything in here.  I felt around the top shelve and came across a deck of cards. "YAY!  Look!  Something to do!"  I exclaimed. "What talking to me is boring to you." "You have to admit it does at times."  I said. "Yeah I guess." ---------- Casey and Brian were in their room.  They had found a radio and were trying to get it to work. "You know what would help this work?"  Casey said. "No what?" She held up the radio and flipped it over. "Batteries."  she said. "Yeah I guess that would help wouldn't it?  Do you have any?" "No do you?" "No......I'll go ask around."  Brian left the room and went to Beth and Kevin's room.  The door was open so he walked in. "Hey do you by any chance have any batteries?"  he asked. "What kind?"  Kevin asked. "AA."  (It was a small radio) "Yeah here."  Kevin threw him the batteries. "Thanks."  Brian returned to his room and put the batteries in the radio and sure enough it worked. "How are we going to get a station in.  We're covered in snow."  Casey said. "Well let's just hope that we can find one."  After playing around with it for awhile Casey lost all interest and went to to join Kevin and Beth who were now  in the kitchen. "What's Brian up to?"  Kevin asked. "Oh he's playing with some radio that we found."  she answered. "Hey you guys come here and listen to this!"  Brian yelled and turned up the radio.  Everyone joined him in the room.  They missed the first part of what the woman said. "The Backstreet Boys and there opening act Lexie Whitman were reported to be in this area.  Everyone at this ski lodge are stuck until help comes.  They are on there way but won't get there until morning because they have to clear the roads off.  We will update you with more information as it comes." "Oh thank god help is on the way."  Beth said looking up at the ceiling. "It's so cold in here."  I said shivering. "Yeah I know.  I hope they get here soon."  said Casey.  Brian left the radio playing so we had something to listen to.  We all went into separate rooms again. ~Chapter 11~ *The next day* "I don't think I have every been this cold before."  Casey said while rubbing her arms as she walked out of her bedroom. "I need fresh air."  I said with my head on AJ's shoulder while we were sitting on the couch. "Geez I thought we were supposed to get some help here.  They really must be taking their marry old time."  Beth said. "Well maybe they are helping other people.  We are the farthest away from the road.  it'll take awhile."  said Kevin. No one talked for awhile.  Just sat there and stared at each other just like they had been the day before.  What were they supposed to talk about?  They've been together for so long there was nothing new to talk about.  Brian turned on the radio again to have something to listen to.  The silence was beginning to bug him. ---------- Ryley, Wendy, and Cindy found two decks of cards and had been playing war for about 3 hours now.  It was pretty much the highlight of their morning.  The others were still sleeping.  They tried to sleep as long as they could.  By the time everyone was awake it was only 9:00.  The three girls couldn't sleep so they thought they would play war until the rest woke up. "This is really bothering me.  I need to know if the rest are all right."  said Ryley. "I'm sure they are.  We just have to think positively."  said Wendy.  "It's so damn cold in here I hope help gets here soon.  If they don't there going to find 6 people frozen solid." "Hey do you guys hear that?"  Howie asked. "Here what?"  asked Colleen. "That."  he pointed towards the door.  "It sounds like someone is out there." They all stayed quiet listening to the scraping at the walls.  Then they heard some men talking to each other. "Try and see if you can get the door opened."  a man said. "It's help!  They found us!"  exclaimed Cindy. "Yes we can finally get out of here!"  said Colleen.  It was the first time she had ever smiled since this whole thing had happened. Someone was banging on the door and it finally swung open and a bunch of snow rolled in but there was a big opening at the top. "Is anyone in there?"  someone yelled.
