~Chapter 1~
Slam! Holly stomped off into the living room and plopped down on the couch and folded her arms across her chest.
"I take it you had a bad day at work." Lori said cautiously sitting on the couch.
"Maybe I did, maybe I didn't" Holly said staring at the remote.
"Well, forget it. 'Cause tomorrow we finally get to meet Amanda's mystery man." Lori said.
"Wow. Do you think I care?" Holly asked.
"Oh yeah, one minor detail. We are going to meet him at the beach, plus he's bringing a bunch of his friends." Lori excitedly said.
"Like I said before, wow." Holly said annoyed.
"Fine. I guess your not interested I bet you $75 to not talk to any of them the whole time we are at the beach." said Lori. Holly nodded in agreement and then walked upstairs to go to bed.
~How hard can it be no to talk to some guys?~ she thought.

Ring! Ring! Ring! "Hello?" Holly said picking up the phone.
"Hi! Are you guys ready?"
"Who is this?"
"Duh! Amanda! Now are you guys ready? Because Ke..I mean my boyfriend and his friends are all ready."
"Fine. I'll just wake up Lori and get dressed ok?" Holly said.
"Ok. Well gotta go. Bye."
"Bye."
~Great. Now I can't talk today. Oh well I'll be making $75 easy~ Holly thought.
"Lori wake up! We got to go!" Holly yelled as she pounded on Lori's door. Holly walked up stairs back to her room. She threw on her silver two-peice swim suit. Over that she put on a T-shirt and shorts.
"Come one Lori!" Holly shouted.
"Ok I'm ready." Lori shouted back.
They then walked out of the house and to Holly's Toyota Rav4. After they were down the road some, Lori said with a big smile,
"So, today the bet starts. You are going to lose.
Holly shook her head and mouthed the words, "I'm going to win."
~Chapter 2~
"Hi Lori! Hi Holly! How are you guys?" Amanda asked cheerfully
Why are you so cheery? What's wrong? You sick?" mouth Holly.
"Lori why isn't she talking?" Amanda asked.
"Oh, nothing." Lori answered with a devilish smile. Just then two jeeps drove up.
"Yes! They're here!" Amanda said excited. Amanda ran up to the first jeep. Then when Holly and Lori saw who her boyfriend was, plus his friends, their mouths dropped open.
"Holly, Lori, I'd like you to meet my boyfriend Kevin." Amanda proudly said.
"You mean to tell me you've been going out with him, and you didn't tell us?!" Lori shouted.
"Sorry she didn't tell you sooner, but this is also the first time the guys get to meet her." Kevin answered.
"Awe." Holly mouthed. Then the other guys came over and they all exchanged hellos and how are yous. after that Holly walked off and laid down on her towel listening to all of them talk.
"Wait a minute. Aren't there five of you?"{ questioned Lori.
"Oh yeah. D is still sitting in the jeep!" AJ exclaimed.
"Why?" Lori asked looking at one of the jeeps.
"He's mad that we dragged him along. He has been sitting in his room for the past 2 weeks." AJ said.
"Well, I'll go and get him." Lori suggested.
"You're better off if you don't try. He'll just lock the doors." said AJ.
"I'll send Holly to get him out. She can get anybody out of a car. Plus she has a set of lock-pics." Lori said waving to Holly to come over by them. When Holly got there, Lori explained what she was supposed to do. Holly left walking over to a jeep with the lock pic.

Knock knock!
"Go away!" Howie yelled from inside. He then locked the doors and laid down on the seat. When Howie looked out the window, he say a figure outside doing something to the door.
"Like I said before, go away! Leave me alone!" Howie shouted at the figure. Just then the door opened up, and Howie saw Holly standing there with the lock-pics.
"How did you........why did....who are you?" Howie asked. Then Amanda and Lori ran up behind Holly.
"Good job Holly! Boy those lock-pics come in handy!" Lori said excited. Holly bowed and mouthed,
"Thank you, thank you!"
Howie was just sitting there looking from one girl to the next.
"Who are you?" he said confused.
Amanda answered first, "I'm Amanda, Kevin's girlfriend. They are Lori and Holly, my friends." Lori and Holly smiled and said, "Hi." Well actually Lori and hi, Holly just mouthed it.

"Hey! They got D out of the jeep!" AJ shouted.
"Well, Holly unlocked the door." Amanda explained. "Speaking of her where did she go?"
"There she goes, towards the dunes." Kevin pointed out.
"And there goes D following." Lori added probably wants to know why she isn't talking."
"Ummm.....Lori why is Holly not talking?" Amanda questioned.
"Well, we kind of made a bet for $75 that she couldn't talk the whole time a we're at the beach, " Lori answered nervously.
"Oh ok." Everyone else said at the same time.

~Finally, I get to be by myself~ Holly though as she walked through the dunes. She looked at her watch and thought Damn! only 4:30. I've got to keep silent one more hour.~ Holly climbed a giant dune and sat sat down to look at the ocean. From where she was, she could see all her friends playing in the water. As Holly was about to lay down, she heard noise, as is someone followed her.
"Hey...umm....Holy wait up!" How shouted.
~Oh great! I can't talk and he decides to follow me.~ Holly though as she watched Howie run up to where Holly was sitting.
"Ummm....you're Holly right?" Howie asked as he sat down. Holly nodded looking towards the others.
"I just wanted to know, why aren't you talking? Are you sick? Did you lose you voice? questioned Howie. Holly grabbed a stick and wrote in the sand the words, A bet, No, no, before Howie could say anything else, Lori yelled,
"Come on Holly! I need to go! The vet needs an assistant!:
"Ok I guess you have to go. Maybe we can talk some other time." Howie said as he and Holly walked towards the vehicles. Holly then walked up to Lori and held out her hand.
"Fine. Fine. You win." Lori said as she took out $75 from her purse and put in Holly's hand.
"Thank you very much." Holly said as and Lori waved good-bye to everyone. When they were in the car, Lori said,
"Man, I can't believe you won. If I couldn't talk today, I would go crazy."
"Just goes to show I can resist anything. I am all powerful!" Holly shouted throwing her head back.
~Chapter 3~
"So D, did you have fun today?" Kevin asked on the drive home Howie didn't answer. He was to busy watching Holly and Lori drive away.
"S! You D! You ok?" AJ shouted.
"Huh?" Howie said, "We were asking you something, but you seemed occupied by something, maybe a girl?"
"Ohhhhh! D has a crush on a girl." AJ teased. "Bit it better not be Lori 'cause she's mine." Kevin looked at AJ.
"You mean to tell me you are already in love with Lori even though you just met her?" Kevin asked shocked.
"So? D has a crush on Holly. And she didn't even talk today." AJ pointed out.
"Now how do you know I have a crush on her?" Howie askded.
"Well let's see. First you didn't come out of the car until you saw her. Second you followed her on the dune, and third you were staring at her just now when they left." AJ said satisfied "I rest my case."
~So I like her. Why do they always make it a big deal?~ Howie though as they continued talking.

"Hey AJ and Howie it's Lori.."
"And Holly!" Holly interrupted
"We would like to invite you guys over for dinner at our place." Lori continued.
"Whatever happened to Saturday night?" Holly sang.
"Holly! Shut up! You wanna know what happened to Saturday night? Well, I ate it! Now please stop singing! Ok now the dinner starts at 7:00. We live on 420 High Street. See you tomorrow!"
"Bye!" Holly said. "I can't believe you ate Saturday night!"
**Beep! End of messages.**
AJ walked over to the kitchen by Howie.
"Wow. Those two are weird when they're alone." AJ said looking for food. "But damn Lori is hot!"
Howie sat down at the table with his head looking towards the back door.
"D, You gotta stop spacing out like that." AJ said waving his hand in front of Howie's face. "Tomorrow will be the day I ask Lori out."
"All ready? You've only known her a few hours." Howie said.
"Oh well. Good night D." said AJ as he jumped up the stairs singing.
~Good maybe I can actually find out stuff about Holly. And she can actually talk to me~ Howie thought as he laid in bed until her finally fell asleep.
