~Chapter 1~
The first day of school. 1999. Daphne Mitchell walked into Ms. Riley's homeroom at 7:26 am, to see her worst enemies best friend, some people she hated, and a couple that made her sick.  Great, she thought,  She sat down next to April Wenzel.
Mrs. Riley then planned out what they would do during the week.  "Gay,"  scoffed Daphne.  April laughed.
"Hey Daphne, what's your next class?"
"Um, lemme check....reading with Harvey."
"Seriously?  Me too!"
"Cool.  I'll sit by you!"  smiled Daphne.  She was worried about who her friends were going to be.
"Hey,"  whispered April, "I heard she's mean!"
"Yeah, we'll she yelled at me already last year.  I'm off to a real good start!"  They both laughed.
After homeroom was over, they walked over to Mrs. Harvey's room.  It really was as bad as they'd imagined!  Worse yet, they were stuck next to Steve Hillen, a short boy, resembling an ape, both in looks and personality.  At the end of class, Mrs. Harvey gave out homework.
"What!  It's the first day of school!"  screeched Steve.
"Yes Steven.  Get used to it!"  she cackled.
"Weak sauce!"  he yelled.
"What is weak sauce supposed to be?"  asked Daphne.
"Shut up!"  he snapped.  He whacked her over the head with a note book.
"Daphne, face the front of the room!"  yelled Mrs. Harvey.
"Haha!"  cackled Steve.
"Shut up you fag!"  yelled Daphne.
"Stop talking Daphne please."
This bites, she thought, countdown to the next class.
She walked into social studies taught by Mr. Schneider.  She saw Beth Miller.
"Hey Beth, how was Door County?"  she called.
"Oh, it was very fun!  You should have been there!"
"Nothin like calling me before school starts!"
"Well excuse me!"
Then they had to sit down.  She sat next to Libby Myer.  They were kind of friends the year before,  After awhile, they started talking.  Who knew they were gonna become best friends?!
In French, she was disappointed again.  There were three boys in her whole class, and none of them were ones she liked, either.  Her only friend was Kayla Jefferson.  Kayla's friend Alyssa Kreitzer was there too.
She went through the day rather quickly.  She had at least one friend in every class.  Then Daphne walked into advanced math, taught by Mr. Spencer.  Another, oh great.  Same preps and Hark! A few new jocks.  Ooh what a crowd.
"Um, ok class, uh let's turn to page 121 in our books.  Let's see who can answer number one."
Daphne looked at her friend Phoebe Stiles.
By the time that was done, a new kid, Brandon Williams, had already answered "x=17, y=14.  The total is 31"  It had taken him less than 10 seconds.
Whoa.  A super prep."  said Daphne.
"Yeah." said Phoebe.  "Anyway, do you think he's you know..."
"Who Spencer?"
"Yeah."
"I'd say so, except for the fact that he has a picture of his wife and kids on his desk."
"Oh, thank god!"
When Mr. Spencer finished teaching, Ben Banks came back to talk to them.
"Hey Ben.  How was summer?"  asked Daphne.
"Ehh, how would your summer have been if you had no life?"
"Hmm, like yours?"  laughed Phoebe.
"Precisely!"  Ben smiled.  He put himseld down a lot.
"So, Brandon.  I got two questions for ya."  said Daphne.
"Yeah?"
"Where's ya come from and why's ya wanna come here?"
"Hehe I was from Florida and I don't know why we moved here."
"You're smart, man I'd say you're smarter than Ben!"  laughed Phoebe.
"Oh, I took this course last year."  Ben had a disgusted look on his face.
"Cheater!"  giggled Nick Palusco.  Everyone kinda thought he was gay.
"Shut up.  No one here likes you!"  snapped Ben.  Everyone shut up then.
Well, Daphne had two friends that were girls in seventh hour, Libby and Kristine Stevenson, and some guy friends too.  Ben, Fred Kraft, and Julian Anderson.
But when she walked into English, she saw no one.  A girl thought Daphne liked her, and Alysaa.  Oh well, she'd have to make do.
"I wish Olivia was here."  she sighed.

~Chapter 2~
The fun begins

Daphne got home sometime during the first 2 weeks of school, and realizes she hadn't marked down her science homework.
"Sigh.  I guess I'll have to find Libby's number.  This oughta be quick.  Hello, is Libby there?"
"Yeah this is.  Who is this?"
"Oh, hi."
"I was just wondering what we had to do for science."
"Um, page 27 chapter review."
"Ok cool.  Well c ya."
"Whait.  What's up?  Are you and Beth friends?"
"Yeah...Why?"
"Cause we all hate her.  She was talking behind my back, and she always asks us if we're mad at her.  It's so annoying."
"Oh last year Jay Curtis thought I was spreading rumors.  We were best friends.  No we hate each other."
"Wait, last year Beth told him you were spreading rumors about him."
"Are you serious?  I thought she was one of my best friends.  It turns out both of them betrayed me."
"Yeah.  God I hate her!"
"So Beth is respnsible for the worst thing that every happened to me.  For the tow months I was depressed.  Alright Libby.  Tomorrow she goes."
"I'll write the note."
They talked for sbout an hour.  Then at school, Beth got the note.  She was gone from the table.  They teased her about stuff, for two whole weeks.  Daphne forced herself to apologize, but the rest of them didn't.
In English, Daphne started talking to Alyssa.  They became friends and called each other a lot.  She also had to sit next to Todd Longhurst.  He had come late 7th grade, and Beth had told Jay Daphne liked him.  Of course Jay told Todd, so they didn't talk.  Daphne wasn't exactly the type to say, "Uh. excuse me, Beth and Jay are fags, I don't even know your last name."
Alyssa was a short girl who had two problems.  Alopecia Areata and Psoriasis.  She had a small bald spot near her bangs and had scaly skin.  From then formed her nickname, Scaly the Balding Eagle.  It was cruel, but she called herself that!
