3rd Time Around is a ministry based punk band out of Tacoma WA. They came about in late '97 when Josh Carper (drums), and Dewey Lybecker (rhythm guitar and vocals) decided to start a band. Around February of '98, they found Jason Adams, (bass), who had recently started attending their school. On April 2nd, they played their first show at a club called the Java Jump. As they all became much closer to God,they slowly started to find what God had planned for them. Around August of '98, they found the very talented lead guitarist Jimmy Davis. Thanx to Jimmy, and the bands desire to worship Jesus, the band took another big step towards following God. In November of '98, they put out their first decent demo, which was a major blessing from God, because they didn't really have the money, but thanks to a relative of Josh's, they got a very good deal. They have played many shows at places like; the Java Jump, Club Extreme, Club IMPACT, Auburns Best Annex, The Bulldog Cafe, the Roxy, the Spin Cycle, Collins Grange, Antioch Alliance Church, Powerhouse youth group, etc., plus many festivals and outside shows such as the P.A.C. (Pacific Air Competition), and Freak Fest. They also play a lot of house parties and various churches. So, if you are into Christian punk rock, or just punk rock in general, you should come check them out, you just might be glad that you did!!!
