Cal-Vocals
Cal (or kelvin Morris
to his mother)- Vocals. Joined Discharge after 1979 when original drummer hacko left, and Tez (who had been the previous singer) moved over to drums. Cal had all previous material scrapped when he took over, and he wrote all the new lyrics. His vocal style was unitelligable screaming/ shouting with a thick British accent, although by the mid eighties he actually started to sing (he had a terrible voice, but by now you could make out what he was saying). For Discharge's later material, his voice resembled something out of a black/death metal band: Very high pitched screaming in which he tries to sound satanic.
(Right) Roy Wainwright (Rainy) was the longest serving bass player and a founding member. He didn't return when Discharge mark II reformed in 1991.
(Left) Tony Roberts (Bones) -Bass was brother to original singer and Drummer Terry Roberts (Tezz). He was arguably the most talented member of the group, as over time, he eventually learnt how to play metallic licks. He later left to Form his own group, "Broken bones", less political and more metal than Discharge.
Other members
Terry Roberts, (Tezz) (Drums) was the original Discharge Singer although there is no material dating back to his reign. He took over on drums shortly afterward, and in my opinion, is the hardest and fastest hitting Drummer Discharge ever had.
Bambi (Real name unknown) (Drums) Replaced Tezz for the mini WHY LP in 1981, but was shortly replaced by Garry Maloney.
Peter (pooch) Pyrtle (Guitar) Replaced Bones shortly afterwards, and his playing style was slightly more controlled (but less frenetic). Pooch recorded on the 12" EP "Warning" and, 7" singles "Born to die in the gutter" and "Price of silence", but left shortly afterwards.
For the ill fated reformation, Cal employed Anthony Morgan (Bass) and Andy Green (Guitar), as well as Garry Maloney (Drums).
