Bryan Adams sings his way |

When you're a successful musician like Bryan Adams, you get to call your
own shots.
"I just like to gig, so I tour as much as I possibly can whenever I have the time,"
Adams said from his London home. Adams has found the time to do a mini
concert tour of the United States, performing in smaller, more intimate
venues. |

The last few shows on the tour will be at Trump Marina on Friday and Saturday and at the State Theatre in New Brunswick on Sunday.
Although Adams said he prefers performing in arenas, fans will be in for a treat at his show. Adams will perform some familiar songs, as well as some others Americans might not have heard.
"We're playing most, if not all, of your favorites. But our show consists of some of the songs that were huge outside of the U.S., so you may hear some unfamiliar melodies," Adams said.
Some of the more popular Adams songs from the 1980's such as "Summer of 69," "Cuts Like A Knife"
and "Heaven" will probably make the set list. These are among the many Adams
"Usually, I like the songs that people know the best and get the best reactions from. But I happen to like both newer material, as it's fresh to us, and the older ones. It's good to mix it up a little," Adams said.
Adams is considering an outdoor amphitheater tour this summer. However, that is contingent upon the logistics of recording his new album. Adams has been busy in a Paris recording studio working on the follow-up to 1998's "On A Day Like Today."
"We have been talking about it (summer tour), and as yet, I don't know. I'm in the middle of recording my new album, so I expect that's what I'll probably concentrate on," Adams said.
Besides Adams' love of music, people might not know about his love for photography. In fact, Adams started shooting his own album covers a few years ago. Adams also took photos exclusively of female friends, music and television personalities, athletes and government officials.
The photos of these women were compiled into two books to benefit breast cancer charities. The first book, "Made In Canada," includes photos of Alanis Morisette, Celine Dion and Linda Evangelista. (Adams is a native of Canada.) The second book, "Haven," features women such as Elizabeth Hurley, Joan Collins and Naomi Campbell.
"I did them (the books) as a tribute to a friend of mine who died of breast cancer. All the proceeds went to support breast cancer charities," Adams said.
Through his charitable work, or perhaps his singing and songwriting, Adams has garnered adoration from people celebrating his music. There are two Adams-related projects he wasn't aware of. One is the "Tribute to Bryan Adams" album, featuring various singers covering Adams' songs. The other is the "Sing-A-Long Bryan Adams" Karaoke album. Keeping a sense of humor, Adams said about the tribute album,
"I don't know anything about it --- perhaps they think I'm dead."
As for the Karaoke music, Adams said,
"I get very sulky if they don't have a few of my tunes in Bangkok Karaoke bars."
