Hey all of you wonderful fans; I've got some news for you and a review of my own. You must check out a friend of mine,Tony Roberts. This cat is amazing. His band Mindflow is ready to blow up. The people who discovered Hootie & the Blowfish, Better Than Ezra, Vertical Horizon, as well as many others are all over these guys. Their music is also on this seasons MTV Road Rules (a song called Centerfold which totally rules). Catch it before everyone else; goto www.mindflowmusic.com and visit their sight. You must purchase their CD "Killing the Pane." It is hands down one of the best albums, a must own. I'll make it even easier on you. Click the link below and go directly to their sight. .....This guy is the whole package deal. Hands down one of the best guitar players ever, no question on of the best voices of all time, and more than anything else he's a true poet of our time and musical visionary. The problem is America does not seem to want to award True art and Talent. We award the band who puts the distortion the loudest, hangs there hair the lowest or better yet bands who sing, not even play a single note, to previously recorded music they didn't even write. As you can see I'm frustrated with this country and its musical taste, or shall I say lack there of taste. When a guy like this can basically be "overlooked" something is wrong with those who overlooked him, thats all I'm saying. France and Australia both gave Jeff Buckley the highesat award possible for his musical geniusness, awards so selectively given to people such as Leonard Cohen, Bob Dylan, Joni Mitchell, and only a select few of others. They honestly only give out a couple a decade and Jeff Buckley was one of the easier decisions of all time say the journalist, music professors, and producers who judge. Poitnt is, even though Jeff is no longer with us due to a freak drowning accident, his music lives and you must check it out. He's in all the music stores and since his death some obscure concert recordings and imports have emerged, but if you're a Buckley Virgin I suggest you start with GRACE. |

The Band: Basement What? |

All Right, On With What I'm Doing........................
For the rest of the month of March I will be playing back with the old band, rehashing the old tunes, maybe debuting new ones, and playing the whole cover thing again. Five shows, that is it and then I am out. It's really sad, I sound like a drug addict trying to kick the junk, "just this last time and that is it!! Then I'm done!! No More!! For good this time." I would say it is a queer analogy on my part but it really is not. Playing live with huge sound, a full band, lots of money, and lots of women believe it or not is quite addictive. Whatever the case, I'm a sorry individual tempted by the money, the free alcohol, the fame for a night, and of course the beautiful women; who are way out of my league but never seem to realize it as I stand behind a wooden object with six pieces of wire tightly stretched from end to end. Bottom Line is if you want to see me play back with the boys the dates are posted on the on the first page of this site, or you can click on the link below and go straight to the Basement What? Web Site and get much more detailed information on the dates and also the band as a whole. Don't worry, this band thing is only tempory and I am still entirely commited to my own accoustic shows.
Update People. Today is July 14th and as I read what I wrote in March I laugh, because I had all intentions of this band thing being short term, but I'm playing a gig with them tonight so obviously it wasn't. I'm a pathetic Junky who can't kick it. Actually things are going very well. We're spewing out stuff that I think even surprises us at times. The eight song that we have just finished up recording turned out very well. Four more tunes are to come making a whole 12 and in part whole cd. The new albumn already features some new songs that have been morphed from accoustical Joel & Dave tunes into some great full band tunes. If you link to Basement What Site below you can then link to farm club and download songs from the new recording sessions in their entirity. Unfortunately the new song YOU is not one of the ones they chose to display, and wouldn't you know it, that's the one I'd like to share with all of you most.
