The first two songs that Derrick ever recorded
were "Lover Boy" and "Oh My", both for Duke Reid's Treasure
Isle label. While "Oh My" was featured on the radio show both were
kept for exclusive sound system use because they were so popular and not
released on record for over two years. Coxsone heard about Derrick's popularity
and had him come and do some recordings for Studio One including "Leave
Earth" and "Wigga Wee Shuffle", which was the name of the dance
Derrick used to do on stage.
