Blind Ambition Live April 30th 2005

(April 25th 2006)
A Year In Review
On April 30th 2005 Blind Ambition finished up their run towards playing music for a living. With 5 hours of steady driving between the members, they have managed to get together to play an acoustic set in July at a wedding, a full band set on September 10th at Mark's wedding (possibly the longest set in the bands history) and finally they played a boxing day blowout show to finish off the year. There has been no talk of playing anymore shows until a few weeks ago when they were asked to play at the annual Monkfest show on the last weekend of May 2006. Having everyone confirmed was pretty exciting and with the word out Blind Ambition has been asked to play a show on May 13th in Belleville at the Irish Hall where they played their "final" show. These two shows will probably be some of the only times you will be able to catch Blind Ambition in action this year so don't miss your chance if this is something you are interested in.

Good Evening
Since March of 1998 I have had some really great and some not so great times with Blind Ambition...For the most part, I think it was worth it, most of it. I have had the chance to play with and meet some amazing people, but there comes a time when people die, people change and you know it will never quite be the same again. This time has come for Blind Ambition.
I have exhausted myself with it and it just doesn't feel worth it to me to try at all to keep it going. It's more of a solo project for the most part and thats not how a band should be. I could write a book on Blind Ambition right now but I would rather you just asked me what you want to know about the long and winding road that it has been.
Blind Ambition has been and will always be a part of me, it just wont be an active part. I still like music, it just doesn't motivate me the way it once did. I have found other outlets and other forms of motivation that will carry me from day to day from now on. I really can't express how greatful I am or how amazing the people who have been fans of the band can make someone feel, I really feel like I gave you nothing in return for all the times you put a smile on my face or made it all seem worth it. I never cared if I was playing for 3 people or 300 people, as long as you were enjoying it I was more than happy to keep going.
I dont really like where music is going and I dont want to be a part of a scene, so for now i'm just going to stick with being me and whatever happens happens, We will try to play at least one more show in the next month but that will be it. Anything from me after that will be Defeated. Thanks again for everything...so long and fare well.
Signed: Mark LaJoie

Sorry about the lack of updates. We got back from Waterloo with no problems, it was a great show and we all had a lot of fun. I'm not sure when the next show will be, we seem to be having a problem getting together to know everyones availability for shows let alone practices...cause believe it or not, i think it's a good thing to practice more than you play unless your on tour...anyways, thats all i've got...
(January 12th 2005)
We made it back from Belleville and the season opener went pretty well. We ran throught the set with minimal problems and had a fun time. Our next show is in Waterloo on the 22nd.
We have a new CD available at live shows, this CD has 23 songs on it and it's called "Then Til Now". Some of the songs include Beginning, Bland, Goes On Further, Change Me, Wrecking Ball, Falling Out Of My Life End and a new song called All I Do Is Complain.
In other releasing news, Blind Ambition will have a Box Set released in April, it will have 4 CD's and 1 DVD, i'll post more information as it unforlds.

Happy new year...Just a quick recap of 2004...There were a few visual changes to the page, we recorded and released "i'm just tired", moved to Ottawa, got Jon as our new drummer, saw a lot of cancelled shows, Alex did his "This Soft Light", Mark did Defeated...But all that is behind us.
We still have two confirmed shows for January...Belleville on Saturday the 8th and Waterloo on Saturday the 22nd where we will be selling the very new "Then Til Now" album, it's recordings of Blind Ambition from 1998-2005, "i'm just tired", t-shirts, the new "Defeated" album and maybe "This Soft Light".
