Megadeth was formed in 1984 by Dave Mustaine. The band consisted of Dave Musatine (guitars/ lead vocals), Dave Ellefson (bass/ back-up vocal), Chris Poland (guitars), and Gar Samuelson (drums). Their fist album, Killing is my business...and business is good , was released in 1985. Then in 1986, Peace Sells... But Who's Buying, was relaesed. After Peace Sells , the band underwent a few changes. Chris Poland and Gar Samuelson were replaced by Jeff Young (guitars) and Chuck Behlar (drums). It was this line-up that released, So far, so good...so what! in 1988. After So far, so good , the band under went one last change in their line-up. In 1990, Megadeth, with Dave Mustaine (guitars/ lead vocals), Dave Ellefson (bass/ back-up vocals), Marty Friedman (guitars), and Nick Menza (drums/ back-up vocals), released the album, Rust in Peace . These four musicians have been Megadeth ever since. In 1992, Countdown to Extinction was released. This album has more input from Marty and Nick than Rust in Peace did. 'High Speed Dirt' was written from a skydiving trip that Marty and dave Ellefson took. The lyrics were written in the car while on their way back from skydiving. Next came Youthanasia . My favorite song from it is 'Addicted to Chaos'. it was released in the stores at midnight on October 31, 1994. Halloween night. This album was recorded in Megadeth, Arizona. *laugh* No one would rent a house to them becasue of the name, so they rented a warehouse in Phoenix, Arizona. That warehouse became Megadeth, Arizona. Dave Mustaine designed a studio that could be disassembled and set up somewhere else. And that became the studio for that album. Go Dave! And the latest album, Cryptic Writings ame out in 1997. Reading the information on the card or booklet, you will discover that this album was recorded in Nashville, Tennessee. Imagine that. *S* There is one other album that I failed to mention until now for a good reason. It is Hidden Treasures from 1995. This album is a collection of all the songs that they did for compelations and for movies. For example, 'Breakpoint' was done for the movie Super Mario Brothers . And '99 Ways to Die' is from The Beavis and Butthead Experience.
