Rapper Lauryn Hill has proven to be a vital member of the '90s rap community. She got her start in the alt/rap trio the Fugees and has gone on to work on various side projects and benefit CDs. In the summer of '98 she joined up with the Lilith Fair. Her debut solo album, The Miseducation of Lauryn Hill, was released in August 1998 on Columbia Records.
