Lyrics: Generation of Love
When I was young, I watched the world spinning around my head.
Youth enflamed with the fires of truth, burning deepest red,
a time for change,
to rearrange
the way things were.
On the TV screen, the war raged on, still the motives weren’t that clear.
And if blood and violence were answers there, they were problems here
drawn in simple lines
by simple minds
in simple fear.
And in turbulent times, a generation was born,
bound by beliefs that left a nation torn.
And they grew into the generation we call
the Generation of Love.
Where did they go, why did they leave?
If love was the answer, do they still believe?
What happened to those that tore down the walls
society built and bridged the gap
between you and me, what happened to
the Generation of Love?
