STRUMMER & SCABIES DO DISNEY

Musicians Write Soundtrack For New Flick

This just in! Apparently Joe Strummer (former Clash frontman) and Rat Scabies (former drummer for The Damned), have been working on the soundtrack for - get this - a new Walt Disney movie. According to media reports, the two decided to work together on the project after running into each other at a Ministry show in Los Angeles. Strummer invited Scabies to the studio, and along with some help from Segs (one-time bass player with The Ruts) the musicians spent several months in a California studio writing the music for "Grosse Pointe Blanke," which is described as a "hitman comedy." Hmmm . . . Anyway, while they were at it, the three also took the time to record a track for the upcoming "Generations" compilation, a CD to benefit human rights. The three will appear on that compilation under the name "The Electric Doghouse."

Update & Clarification

The "Disney" movie was Grosse Pointe Blank, and wasn't actually a cartoon as this article seems to imply, not to mention that they they mispelled "Seggs" as well. The information on the Generations I compilation is correct, however.
