01-02-81, London Lyceum. Sound Quality: Fair audience recording. Comments: Overall decent recording be it with some hiss levels whcih could use reduction. The hiss also seems to induce some sweep to the sound at times. There is a temporary sound degradation to poor during Into the heart. The overal spped of this recording is to high, resulting in an increase in pitch by a semitone. On the plusside it gies the show some extra energy. Standard Boy setlist with a twist and the real reason for getting this show, the encore features a gem in the form of a cover version of All along the watchtower, 6 years before they supposedly did it in promptu in the 14-11-87 Stop the Traffic show in San Francisco. Lying bastards for giving us the impression that they gave us the impression that they learned it 5 minutes beforehand. While the version which ended on Rattle and Hum was fairly mediocre this one sounds far more interesting and U2ish, including an Edge solo. |
