Comments:
This is a great looking package rumoured to be 500 copies only. To be honest, I'm not entirely sure if it's worth it. Sure, you get almost the entire show (without Walk on) but almost no nasty cuts in the songs (the ending of With of without you is missing). And you get Walk on (spelled Waltz on) from the previous opening night, including those songs not played on the 26th. But during One there is this evil slightly screeching sound as if the microphone went bad. It's probably the reason why Walk on is absent on this boot. My theory is that something happened to the mike, during WOWY, they tried to fix it, got some signal and recorded the remainder of the show and only later discovered what happened to the rest. If One/Unchained melody were omited from this boot and then go straight to the bonus tracks (with One from the opening night included, this would have been a far better package, still worth the money. Now it leaves this bad aftertaste.
The bonus package is great, 4 songs from opening night, the 2001 Brit Awards performance and some Beautifull day remixes. The whole package comes with a deluxe double gatefold sleve (how am I going to fit that into my CD rack). The cover shows a closeup from the boys from the All that you can't leave behind album. The strange thing is that this boot tries to masquarade as a legit release, including the legal small print (which is quit funny) and a warning that copying and broadcasting is prohibited.
Here's a copy of the legal shit: All titles written by U2 and published by Monoram international Music. Publishing B.V. except Black Mountain LTD (UK), Big Mother musik (IRL)/Universal Soldier Music Publishing LTD. Produced by U2 for the peace on the earth. Recorded by T.van Sand at the Mobile Sound Studio's, Miami. Mastered and digital remastered by Sunny Bates at the Mastering Lab, Dublin. Special thanks to "From fans to fans community" for supporting the Elevation Tour.
