Comments:
U2's 4th Elevation show and the first complete one setlistwise after opening night. Being that Miami 26th and Charlotte had slightly stripped down setlists. The quality seems good making this one of my early favorites. In a little while is cut near the end, I guess the tape ran out since the beginning of The ground beneath her feet is also missing. I've heared reports as if Sunday bloody sunday and new year's day were sounding a bit aged and worn. But after hearing this boot I have to disagree. New year's day sounds just like Popmart (maybe a little better) and Sunday bloody sunday sounds like one of the show's highlights. Maybe it's because U2 play it a tone lower as usual with tuned down guitar and bass giving it a different overal sound. Speaking of pitch, to my surprise most of the new songs were played as on the album, not tuned down a semitone as U2 has always done. The Sweetest thing, one of the songs I was dreading to hear (didn't like it in 1987, didn't like it on the greatest hits album), does sound better then I was expecting, that old live magic I guess. I still wish they would have dropped it for something else instead (like When I look at the world maybe).
