ARCHITECT - HISTORY

Architect was formed in December 1990 from northern cult heroes Harelequyn who released two singles and an album to excellent international reviews.
Main song writing partnership Mother/Walker used their album royalties to purchase a recording studio, recruited new musicians and Architect was born.
The band released their debut 12 inch E.P. "More Than Before" on their own Voltage Label in April 91 and again received worthy reviews for the record and concerts on the accompanying tour which included support dates with Danielle Dax, Doctor & The Medics, Catherine Wheel and Big Country.
The studio was then upgraded to 24 track and recording began for the debut album.
The album "Poets & Thieves" surfaced in August 92 on C.D. format.
Again, the release was fully self financed on the Voltage label, and a deal was struck with Plastic Head/Pinnacle for nationwide distribution rights.
Reviews have been very favourable, with one magazine saying "They have managed to fuse together the glam of T.Rex, the power of U2 and the subtle song crafting of the Beatles."
