Paul's Supertones Page

The Preview:

After a long awaited follow up to "Supetones Strike Back" (released in 1997) The Supertones released "Chase the Sun" on Feb 23 1999. The Supertones are mostly ska band but some to many songs include some rap. Let me first start off by saying that The Supertones are not one of my favorite ska bands. In fact I really didn't like the album except for a few songs. The Supertones always make a couple of great songs making "Chase the Sun" an album that should be bought.

The Supertones have three main types on songs on "Chase the Sun."
The First: Upbeat ska songs - ("One Vioce", "In Between") These songs make the album worth buying. These are great songs.
The Second: Slow Ska Songs - (many) These are OK but I would rather have them more upbeat.
The Third: Rap songs - ("Chase the Sun") - Make the album not worth buying. I don't like rap.

In conclusion, this album can be judged many ways because the music varies. I would say get it for those upbeat ska songs. The reason The Supertones are not one of my favorite bands is because about half of the songs on their albums are good and the half are not. The Supertones could be a great band, and they already are, but they could be even better. It is up to you if you want to "Chase the Sun".
