Lying on a bed with pools of water in his eyes
he slowly unfolds the blankets revealing scar-kissed body
lines that map out what he's done the night before.
He beckons subtly for me to sit beside
and the music playing in his fingertips lets me
know what he's done in the life before.
Lips with looks from a painting but motions like real life
defy words with their simplicity - reflecting the rest
of him - reflecting me in his eyes with a smile
Wading - Not drowning.
