The Girl With Technicolor eyes
She watches me as I sleep.
She sits on my fire escape singing lullabys.
She tries to help me sleep, but I will not let her.
The woman across the street is up especially late tonight; I am bothered.
Will she lose her job if she goes to sleep? How can I sleep knowing there is so much to do? The girl is crying, she wants to stop so she removes her technicolor eyes.
A heavy wind blows; the girl falls.
I imagine how what was once a lovely girl, is now just a spot on the street, and then nothing.
The girl left her eyes on my windowsill. And I know that they will be there tomorrow night, and every night after that, watching me.
