I saw embrace do a gig at doncaster dome, which in my eyes was absolutly out of this world! the drums where rollin, the guitars were rockin, and danny vioce just speaks for its self! AMAZING TALENT!! Best band on the scene since the first 12 months of the oasis era! The fucking crowd at the dome where so taken aback by how powerful the emotions are in the lyrics of most of the embrace songs, and it had many girls and the lads crying their little hearts out!! poor souls!!
Hey!! a bit of advice to anybody out there who has the chance to see them take it, cos they are the best band in the world at the moment, and will remain there for a very long time!! see ya gotta get back to doing Immunology course work (BORRING!!!)
Take care

What a great night! Right from the first ripping chords of "Blind" to the over long ending of "The Good Will Out", the crowd were up for it. And why not? Embrace's we-are-rock stance has earned them a reputation for making great music, as well as having big gobs and Gallagher-baiting.
And while most of their songs are indeed heart-breakingly beautiful ("Retread" and most moving song of the night "That's All Changed Forever"), some of the songs are, contrary to their belief, complete and utter shite ("The Way I Do" and an unbelievably crap "You've Got To Say Yes"). Moreover, some of the best album tracks sound lost without copious amounts of string behind them, although Mick's astonishing keyboard skills make the live show distinctive from the album.
How long will Embrace stay on this perch, then? Hmm, tough call. They can only improve, but you can't help but feel a lot of tonight's energy came from the (very drunk) crowd as well as the Mighty Ones. And while they're certainly very good at the whole "passion-fueled-classic-rock", when Oasis and Embrace come to release material on the same day - and it WILL happen soon - Oasis blow them away like the pretenders they are.
Sorry to sound so negative. I love this band, and after meeting them backstage I think they're really nice blokes, especially Richard. But the sooner they get their heads back to writing the rockier songs they so badly want and lack, the better. As Danny so aptly put it, "Fookin' stadium rock, man."
So sort it.
