EMI MUSIC ITALY - MEDIA RELEASE
Milan, Italy - September
8th, 1997 -- X-Treme was going to jump... and he's made a real big
jump this year signing with EMI for the release of That's The Way '97,
a dance song that pulls the 70s disco sound into the 90s with a perfect
blend of house-style rhythms and rap. In Italy That's The Way '97 has
quickly hit the hot play charts. In the USA, Japan, Australia, Brasil,
Germany, Holland and Spain the song is booming; EMI has also published
and licenced That's The Way '97 in Canada, Israel, Czech Republic,
Corea, Brasil, Saudi, Thailand, Belgium and all Scandinavia. In the United
Kingdom, where That's The Way '97 is going to be out at the end
of september, the remix star Mark Summers, known as Scorrcio (producer
of Donna Summer, Mica Paris, The Brand New Heavies and many other international
top artists) was called to remix the track. The five different versions
of That's The Way '97 cover various styles: from the original "70s
into 90s" sound of the Club Mix and Extended Mix to
the hard techno of the 177 Mix, to the dub sound of the Cool
Mix. The interpolations of KC and the Sunshine Band's That's The
Way I Like It are so cool that if you listen to that song after playing
That's The Way '97 you feel like something's missing.
X-Treme, whose real name is Agostino Carollo, is a 30 years old
italian dj and musician from Rovereto, a little town on the famous Lake
Garda, in the North of Italy. He approached music as a classic violin player
when he was only 6 and played guitar and keyboards with many rock bands
during his teen years. A lot of clubs around Italy, France and England
still remember his performances as a solo player around the years '87 to
'91. Deep into house music since the birth of it, he set up a home studio
that progressively developed into his actual state-of-the-art recording
facility. His first record was This Is The Voice, published in 1992
by the label Palmares under the name Paranoimia. Several records
followed that first hit, among which must be remembered 1992, under
the name Opera (Bull & Butcher Records, 1992), No Satisfaction
(Media Records, 1993) and Yo Quiero Un Chico (Media Records,
1996) under the name F.I.N.E. He was also a member of the Dance
Authority team that in 1994 remixed the biggest hits of the 60s singer
Rita Pavone (Datemi Un Martello, WEA, 1994).
