Religious Affiliation: Born to a Catholic mother and Protestant father, so church wasn't something I did. There were always "Childrens' Bible Stories" and such books all around the house, so I was sort of Christian by default, but even when I was very young I didn't really believe in any of it... today I'm proud to say that I hold absolutely no religious affiliation, mostly because I can't believe that Man (or Woman for that matter) is stupid enough to think that (s)He can actually figure any of it out. I'll freely admit to myself that I don't have a fucking clue what's real, and maybe I never will. The philosophies that I'd come closest to believing if I were forced to do so are most aspects of Taoism, some aspects of Buddhism, most aspects of Wicca, or a very warped and personalized form of Satanism. Actually, I lied. I'm really an avid practitioner of Otendotenlittlebotenishkapiddlyotendotebeboskadeedledotfadatnchu-ism (inside joke).
Things I like: People who I can have 'intelligent' conversations with... people who are pleasant, funny or otherwise interesting... old top hats... chikins... books, comic and otherwise... distortion guitar... chinese food... religious artifacts from the Dollar Store... big silver rings... glittery stuff...
Things I don't like: Percieved injustices... people who just won't fucking *listen* to someone else's point of view... anyone who forces anything on anyone else... people who talk a lot without thinking about what they're saying... and Puff Daddy. I don't like Puff Daddy.
What I do with my time: Anything at all that could conceivably be linked to Art, pretending I can play the guitar, being the design editor for the school magazine and consistently missing deadline, typing dumb things to weird people on this magickal machine, absorbing knowledge as frequently as possible, digging holes in the backyard for no reason, covering myself in pigs' blood and shouting utter nonsense at random strangers... and, of course, there's my girlfriend Carrie whom I love.
Favourite Bands: hm brace yourself this is going to be really long... Marilyn Manson (duh), Tool, Rasputina, Alien Sex Fiend, Christian Death, Switchblade Symphony, The Wake, Love Spirals Downwards, Thrill Kill Kult, David Bowie, Bauhaus, Nine Inch Nails, Skinny Puppy/Download, The Cure, God Lives Underwater, Radiohead, Soul Whirling Somewhere, Skold, Metallica, Ozzy/Sabbath, Alice In Chains, Jimmy's Chicken Shack (okay so I've only heard the one song, but look at their fckn NAME for crying out loud!!!), KMFDM, Ministry, Lovesliescrushing, Attrition, SMG, The Church, Screeching Weasel, Propagandhi, Bosstones, Reel Big Fish, Absence, Machines of Loving Grace, Lycia, Black Tape for a Blue Girl, Stabbing Westward, The Prodigy, Coil, Underworld, Orbital, White Zombie, Rammstein, Pink Floyd, Prick, Good Riddance, Tori Amos, Bad Religion, Smashing Pumpkins, Joy Division, Depeche Mode, Pig, Psychotica, Crystal Method, Face to Face, The Dead Kennedys, Strung Out, Sunny Day Real Estate, Perfume Tree, The Sex Pistols, OPIV, Lagwagon, Meat Beat Manifesto, Glass, and of course Marilyn Manson and the Spookykids. I'd put more but I think I've used up plenty of space.
Favourite moving pictures: Just about any John Waters film, Lost Highway, Naked Lunch, Brazil, Trainspotting, The Wall, Clockwork Orange, The Broken Film, NBK, Interview w/the Vampire, 2001, Higher Learning, KIDS, se7en, The Prophecy, Helter Skelter, Willy Wonka, The Dark Crystal, People vs Larry Flynt, Schindler's List, any Monty Python (esp. Meaning of Life)... quite a few more...
Favourite authors: Neil Gaiman is thee first and thee last. None shall come before him. There are many that come after him, but you can read some of those below.
Very Favourite books in the whole world: Neverwhere (Gaiman), Good Omens (Gaiman), Angels and Visitations (Gaiman), Mr. Punch (Gaiman), The Sandman run (Gaiman), What I've read of the Cerebus run (which is basically everything but Church and State and Jaka's Story) (Sim), The first Crow run (O'Barr), Beyond Good and Evil (Neitzche), The Satanic Bible (LaVey), The Devil's Notebook (LaVey), The Truth about Witchcraft Today (Cunningham), The Bedtime Bible Story Book (various), The Holy Bible (various), Grendel (Gardner), Bulfinch's Mythology (various), The Flight of Dragons (Dickinson), Maus (Spiegelman), Interview w/ the Vampire (Rice), The Vampire Lestat (Rice), Understanding Comics (McCloud), Night Shift (King), Gerald's Game (King), Nightmares and Dreamscapes (King), The Tommyknockers (King), Helter Skelter (i don't remember and I don't wanna get up and look =P), Killer Clown: The John Wayne Gacy Murders (same as last =p), Charlie and the Choklit Factory (Dahl), and who can forget The Cat in the Hat (Seuss).
Books that I haven't read, but are on my 'must read' list: The rest of the 'Vampire Chronicles' series, The Bible Code, The rest of the Cerebus phonebooks, The Tao of Pooh, Neil Gaiman and Dave McKean's childrens' book (the one with the goldfish)...
Favourite comic books: Cerebus, Sandman (sniff), Preacher, Johhny The Homicidal Maniac, Milk & Cheese, some of the Grendel books, HATE, Flaming Carrot, Slacker, ACME novelty library, Eightball, Beanworld, Gregory, No Hope, Beautiful Stories for Ugly Children, Wiindows, The Maxx, Hellshock, Doom Patrol, Typhoid, Druid, Madman... too damn many to remember...
Favourite (modern) artists: Dave McKean, H.R. Giger, Barron Storrey, Chris Bachalo, Andrew Wyeth, Andy Warhol, Jackson Pollock, Kelley Jones, Salvador Dali, Frank Miller, Charles Vess, Gerhard/Sim combination, Simon Bisley, Jhonen Vasquez, Terry LaBan, Michael Zulli, Mike Allred, Alex Ross, BOB Ross (heh), Jamie Hewlett, Tony Harris, Marc Hempel, Brian Bolland, David Mazzuccelli, Mike Mignola, Martin Emond, Ted McKeever, Alan Moore... too many more to really list...
TeeVee: if I happen to remember and have nothing else significant to do I might conceivably watch X-Files or Dennis Miller Live. That is, if I dont get bored and turn them off. However if I know Manson will be on that weird box, I will probably make efforts to watch (I'm fucking obsessed. So what? =P). MTV is my standard background noise for if I'm on the computer or want to fall asleep or something.
