Chapter 9 
Dave Navarro & the One Hot Minute 

Dave Navarro wasn't choosen at ramdom.The Chili Peppers had asked him to be the guitarist when Frusciante left the band.  
     The band wanted Dave to tour the lollapalooza with them,but he said NO beacuse he had just toured it and he didn't want to play old songs only, he wanted to write some too.  
     Dave had been part of Jane's Adicction since 1986 to 1991 and a project called Deconstruction.  
     So when the Chilis decided to write their new album,they called him and he became a member on September 3 1993.His first concert with the band was Woodstock .Dave was so nervous that he didn't know if he could play that day,but when they were playing they lightbulbs suits they wore were so unconfortable that he forgot about that he was nervous and he only could focus on play the song.After some songs they took off the suits and rocked.They also showed some "new" songs like Aeroplane,warped and pea.  
     On woodstock also there were bands like Blind Melon, Metallica, Porno for Pyros, Aerosmith ,Joe Cocker (who also is the only artist who had been to the both woodstock) , Rollings Band,etc.  
     They also played on the Reading festival '94 with bands like Helmet ,Soundgarden,Rollings Band,Cypress hill,Lemonheads,etc(in this concert they showed a little part of Walkabout).  
      In July of '94 they started to record the One Hot Minute that also was produced by Rick Rubin and it was released on september 1995.  
      In the album there are songs written by Flea like pea and dedicated to River Phoenix like trascending.  
      The album was very successful and he was nominated for a lot of categories. The videoclips they released were Warped ,My friends ,Aeroplane and Coffee Shop.
