At the beginning of 1997  Flea and Dave 
participated with Porno for Pyros on "Howard Stern Private parts"Soundtrack. And they made a video for the song (Hard Charger).After this they played with Porno for Pyros again for the Premier Party of the movie. That night they played Hard Charger and Jane's Addiction's Mountain Song  (If you have some doubts about Jane's Addiction go to my FAQ) there was were the rumours of a possible reunion of Jane's started  
        On March 3 1997 , Chad Smith had a baby girl with Maria (his wife),she was called  Manon St Jonh Smith ,and she 
was born at 10:42 A.M.  
        After some months of inactivity Anthony Kiedis came back from India (where he was with Dalai Lama) and once again he started working in the new album.The band is invited to participate again in the Tibetan freedom concert ,but they cancelled because they felt like they were not prepared to play.  
        On July 13 Anthony crashed in his car and he broke his wrist ,and some days after he played on Mt. Fuji Rock festival.But the concert (these was the only concert they played in the whole year) lasted only 45 minutes because it had to be cancelled because of a typhoon.  
        After a month Chad Smith also crashed on his motorbike and he dislocated his shoulder.This is why 
they cancelled the Hawaii ,Alaska and Las Vegas concerts.  
        In august the rumours of a possible Jane's addiction reunion became true ,but Flea was the bassist instead Avery.They decided to make a mini-tour over the united states (it started on october 31 and it finished on december) and in november they released a new album (it had 4 new songs).The album was called Kettle Whistle.  
        In september during an interview from Mtv to Anthony ,he said that he had been using Heroin during the last tour (1996 O.H.M. Tour).  
        In december Dave Navarro also admitted to had been using drugs some months ago. And the cancelled concerts were canceled definitely. 
        In February and March 1998 Dave & Chad recoded their duo album. 
        On March 31st 1998 a new cd was released by EMI it is a limited edition called Under the Covers it contains old songs of all albums except OHM and some live unreleased ones. 
        Meanwhile Flea continued working on his solo album. 
         On april 3 1998 Dave left the band ,he did it because of different creative feelings with the rest of the band.So he decided to dedicate most of his time on Spread. 
         So the band will had to look for another guitar player so they  talked to John Frusciante and he came back on April 29th 1998 his firs perfomance with the band was on a radio.
