Okay, this may seem like a joke, but I really believe that FreeCell Solitaire deserves to be on my top ten. For some strange reason, I found myself playing it throughout my entire work term. It is fun, what can I say?
What makes Free Cell different from other card games is that it is a strategy game. There is no element of luck, surprisingly. Well, there is one puzzle which these people have proved is impossible to solve- i forget which one- but every other one is solvable. Every other card game I have ever played has some element of chance, and this one does not. That just makes it a strategy game, and one good challenge it is.
There are so many different hands that you can never do them all, and it is very satisfying when you finish those puzzles that took you 5, 10, or 20 tries to finish. It is great to pass those dull moments at the office, but it is very addictive. However, that is one of the key ingredients in a good game (addictivity) and this game is probably the most addictive game I have ever played. Thank god my computer at home is on windows 3.1, because if I had windows 95 (that is the source of this game) I would no doubt be playing Free Cell for hours at a time.
