Be Careful
Be careful what you say
You can’t go around saying whatever it is you want
You can’t just go around speaking your mind
Be careful what you do
What you do reflects on you
And not everyone has a mind for second chances –
Or thirds or fourths or fifths
You better stick to the what you know the best way to be is
Be careful when you judge
Not everyone is as unaware as you
Not everyone goes around speaking their mind
Maybe if you were blind
You would hear the tone in my voice
That screams: “I’M JOKING!”
And when you see words in print
Don’t you know?
You can’t SEE any tone?
No matter how hard I try
You’ll scribe a tone of your own to these words
So be careful what you say
Because people can hear your tone when you speak
They can tell if you’re immature and weak
And in print the word carelessly used
Could be greatly misconstrued
And hasty words you truthfully spoke
Will only get your heart broke
